@megadepresso: if you’re 14-15, maybe 16 at most, then it’s understandable; if not, though, I think you need to eat a lot more stuffed loaves before passing such harsh judgments... if you like it, there’s nothing wrong with that, of course, but to call the songs on this album pearls of introspective music is a gross exaggeration... if these are pearls of introspection, then who the hell are Low, Codeine, and Slint? Deities? Also, in my opinion, “Siamese Dream” is like 80 times better than “Machina”...

If you're talking about the Teardrop Explodes, they don't really convince me, but you can always appreciate the Killers :D

Yes, maybe Kansas has a semblance of prog that makes them stand out for a moment... but in terms of approach, we’re there... the downside of AOR is that it’s eternal and constantly churns out new copycat bands.

Sex Symbols? I would say more "bimbette"... it's more appropriate...

AOR is the most classic commercial rock-hard-rock that has been popular among Americans from the '70s to today. Examples include Journey, Boston, Kansas, Toto, etc. The acronym stands for "Adult Oriented Rock," and for me, no label could be less appropriate considering the clone artists and useless albums it is associated with.

I can't understand how one can spend 7 euros on a movie like this, which is likely the worst feature film of the year... crap cubed... but evidently, some people enjoy swallowing crap while paying a high price... oh well...

@alexpear: ok now I understand your point of view...I don't agree with it but it's clearer now; I obviously agree on Hendrix. :)

@axel: if music were judged by the emotion it conveys, then we could say that Laura Pausini is a great artist because she moves so many people...

Records from '81 better than this? "For Madmen Only" by UK Decay, "In Berlin" by Blurt (Ted Milton), "Kollaps" by Einstürzende Neubauten, "Juju" by Siouxsie and the Banshees, "Prayers on Fire" by Birthday Party (with Nick Cave), "The only Fun in Town" by Josef K, "Scheintot" by Factrix, "Discipline" by King Crimson, "Who's Landing In My Hangar" by Human Switchboard, "Moving Pictures" by Rush, "The Punch Line" by Minutemen, "God" by Rip Rig + Panic, "The Seduction" by Ludus, "Self-titled" by Penguin Café Orchestra, "Mask" by Bauhaus, "The World as it is Today" by Art Bears, "Dark Continent" by Wall of Voodoo, "Faith" by The Cure, "From the Lion's Mouth" by The Sound, "Youth of America" by Wipers...and I'm surely forgetting a ton of records that were light years ahead of "Siamo solo Noi" in '81...

Oh yes, music doesn't work that way...the best bands are the ones with more fans...didn't you know?
