Well, listening to 3-4 isn't exactly sacrilege since there are, generously speaking, about twenty records that could be defined as "Grunge" (assuming that can be an accurate definition) which are masterpieces or at least noteworthy, spread over a dozen artists/bands. But if we include more generally all the alternative rock from '87 to '94 under Grunge, then there's definitely a lot to consider.

The pop of Tiziano Ferro, Pausini, Antonacci, Nek, Paola e Chiara, etc. (and I could go on forever because there’s really a lot of crap like this) is to music what McDonald's junk is to food, or the films of Vanzina are to cinema. This is the reality. It’s not just the opinion of the majority of Debaser users, but a fact recognized by those who understand a bit about music.

Carlo, if someone admits they listen to something purely for entertainment, fully aware that it has no artistic value, then there are no issues. But if someone clings to the number of copies sold to validate the quality of a certain artist, then I can't agree. But who said that art is just boredom, prog, and contemporary jazz??? What are you rambling about? For me, there are thousands of records with great artistic value that are a pleasure to listen to and don't bore me at all.

"There are few songs that give you chills (at least for me) and 'Ray of Light' is one of them" all of this is really sad.

Madonna Confession on a Dance Floor

The usual talks... those who don't understand a damn thing about music cling to sales to assign value to an album, which is the biggest bullshit one can do. It's like judging the quality of a TV show by its audience (Big Brother/The Island of the Famous) or the quality of a restaurant's food by the number of customers per year (McDonald's).

Yes, but if you produce on a large scale, you can amortize fixed costs greatly, and the space for disproportionate profit remains enormous.

Right, I find "Up on the Sun" to be their best album... doesn't that mean anything to you, Pablo?
