Yes, I know the book but I don't have it.. however, I have Mason's autobiography in which there's the anecdote about the policeman. I take this opportunity to invite fans to inform us of any anecdotes or details about these songs that are not mentioned in the review.

@Calzettino: The review is long because it’s written by a passionate fan, and it's filled with details that we fans are genuinely interested in. I had to rely on books since I certainly can't make up specifics, dates, and anecdotes. The phrases you find ridiculous are purely technical judgments. By the way, it’s a word I like, and my word processor likes it too, as it doesn’t underline it. The album may be a commercial operation, but after "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn," it's the most complete official document of Pink Floyd with Barrett, and that's enough to make anyone who criticizes it look "not so great." When you see her, say hi to your sister for me.

Even if it's not the type of progressive I prefer, it's a 5-star disco; the vocal talents of our future star child are phenomenal.

No Anderson, I don't work at night :-) Anyway, 3 for this album is a bit low, don't you think?

ALTERNATELY BEING A DIE-HARD FAN, I DON’T HAVE A STEEL TRAP MEMORY, SO BEFORE WRITING THIS REVIEW, I HAD TO CONSULT SOME OF MY SOURCES (FIRST AND FOREMOST NICK MASON’S BOOK "INSIDE OUT"), ESPECIALLY FOR THE DATES. ALSO, I TEND TO STAY FAR AWAY FROM THE DEFINITION OF NOTIONAL OR ENCYCLOPEDIC, AS THIS IS A REVIEW BY AN AVID FAN WHO WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THEY ATE THAT DAY DURING THAT RECORDING SESSION. THANK YOU.

Great review. The album is a misstep for the band. Furthermore, Barre's work on guitar in "Still Loving You Tonight" heavily recalls "Europa" by Santana, which in turn directly references the New Trolls from '69. (I think the song is "Un sole nuovo nascerà.")

Ladies and gentlemen, this is one of the most original things I have ever heard. Without this record, the Velvet Underground would most likely not have gone down in history, to mention one of the most famous bands that drew inspiration from it. Barrett probably knew them well, too. Pioneers of a genre, of a sound, of the development of music to come. England learned the American lesson all too well. This should be the very first record to buy.
