I mean... I read a few posts and said what came to mind, but what was the thread??? Ah, when I talk about the songs by Lennon and McCartney, I'm referring to their solo work; I don't feel like remembering the ones with the Beatles, because there they were at their peak and complementary...

In 1969, many albums were released that were better than Abbey Road, at least twenty of them. This doesn't diminish the fact that this record is a masterpiece, the masterpiece of the Beatles in their most mature phase, winking or not at the 16-year-olds of the time. Even if we want to stay within the same context of the Beatles, without comparisons to hard rock or prog bands, already Four Sail by Love is a more complete work. I can't get back to the discussion on Tarkus, which in my opinion is the least valuable album among the early ELP; finally, even at first listen, In the Court shows excellent maturity, astounding for its time. I conclude by saying that, in my opinion, few of Lennon’s songs are worth all of McCartney...but that's just my impression...sorry for my absence, I went to play five-a-side football...peace&love!
