Recently seen. As an ignorant person on the subject (I don't understand anything about cinema), I strongly resonate with the comment of Ing. Maramaldos. Boring at the beginning, unengaging in the middle, pathetic at the end. Perhaps this film isn't for me, and like a perfect childish fool, I’ll say that A True Story and Wild at Heart are 100 times better. The final piece is nice; is it by Reznor?

mementomori I would replace "simpler ground" with "broader field," meaning with greater freedom of expression; otherwise, from your comment, it seems that it is enough to make psychedelia to be dignified, but that is not the case at all.

But the issue wasn't about the rating to give to an album. I gave Deadwing (as well as this Fear of) a 5, especially in relation to the rest of today's music; it's clear that these albums are far inferior to the first ones by the Pt. However, the problem lies with Stupid Dream: the tracks you mentioned are beautiful, more than just nice, and then there are others that are Masterpieces, which leads me to say that overall Stupid Dream is a great album and not at all mediocre as you seem to imply. And when you talk about it being "clearly inferior," you should also explain inferior to what. Inferior to other current music? I don't think so. Inferior to their early albums? Of course, but that doesn't deny that they are well crafted. And you talk about hate; I can understand hatred towards music, but if someone hates the Pt just because another person loves everything they've done, then it's that person who isn't quite right.

I don't have any prosciutto, and I don't consider everything pure gold; in fact, I said those are simply "nice pieces" that move me, not masterpieces, and so far I've never listened to anything similar from Oasis and Britpop. I also think that the albums you mention are the best of PT, and Stupid Dream doesn't quite reach that level, but it remains high quality. Don't I seem a bit off to you, wise guy?

You are a tiny being, and in fifty years the 4 notes of Shine will still shine in the sky, while your dust will rot in a bag of fertilizer.

@Pi.Per: I listened to it, it’s a nice album, Lynchian and Floydian sounds hehe, but it doesn’t seem exceptional to me, too atmospheric for my tastes... anyway, good tip!

So, Alfredo, first of all, it's not that I don't listen to post-77 music a priori. I don't listen to it anymore (and not all of it, obviously, because there are some things from the last 30 years that I do like), but the music that I now denigrate I listened to in the past, and since I didn’t like it, I have no desire to listen to it again. I understand what you mean by "finding" the good in every musical current, but sticking to grunge for now, I repeat that I have already explained in many reviews why I think it sucks: it’s music that is very little or not original at all, heavily borrowing from what came before, with low instrumental and vocal technique (not that technique is everything, but there has to be a minimum to my taste), a furious message that, however truthful, is just a continuous rehash of what punk wanted to tell us more than a decade earlier, and especially the protest music (especially garage) of the late '60s, with songs that sound similar to each other and are repetitive, where I can't find either compositional or performative sparks; it seems like the usual soup, no intricacies, no inventions that in some way excite me, plus other things I've already mentioned in other reviews, especially about Nirvana and Pearl Jam. That said, I limited myself to voting only once, as is reasonable, since I listened to this album and like the others, it failed to convey anything to me, and simply said that I particularly hate these guys. After that, I was attacked by die-hard fans who wanted to hit on my nickname, starting with Alessio who asked me a stupid question (like, "if you go to a Gilmour concert, how can you appreciate Nirvana?"), when I actually listen to music that has nothing to do with Gilmour, like the MC5 or the RdM or Cat Stevens, just to mention three completely different genres. I replied to you because I think you aren’t a jerk like the others, and rest assured, I don’t impose any limits on myself; I’ve always listened to the things I judge, but many one-sided people have a guilty conscience, and there’s nothing I can do about it.

Here, I wanted to reply to under and the metalhead (because the jerks of nevskj and peggicox don't deserve anything else from me), but Randolph's magnificent last comment shuts everyone down.
