The Orb The Orb's Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld

For the review: I realize that it is somewhat lacking in detail and a bit sparse on technical information, but having just recently approached certain sounds, I am not very experienced in this type of music. I wanted to focus more on the sensations and emotions of Orb's music, as I believe that Peterson's music achieves the difficult goal of materializing before our eyes just like a film, allowing our minds to wander... taking us on a journey in every sense, basically! It’s beautiful how such unreal and elusive music can capture our attention, materializing... that’s what happened to me, and I was in a normal state, I swear!

Yes, this is a double album, but I didn't put together the tracklist for CD1; in fact, I wanted to add it, but the database didn't have both tracklists for the two discs, so I gave up... frankly, I don’t know how it turned out.

I know them, but I don’t have anything. Lately, post-core has been capturing me a lot; I'll try to get my hands on Callisto as well. Open mind, which one do you suggest I start with? And anyway, between Isis and Neurosis, it’s a tough battle; both are amazing, although without Neurosis, Isis wouldn’t be what they are today.

Big as always. And once again, you have piqued my curiosity!

I managed to download it.....on first listen it reminded me of a lot of things from Pantera’s Far Beyond Driven and The Great Southern Trendkill. Well, maybe Adler's drumming is closer to Vinnie Paul’s, I think.....

Ashes of the wake is truly a great album, I'll listen to this latest one too. Chris Adler will be very good, but to say that Lombardo and Bostaph are not at that level... well, that takes some doing! Gene Hoglan and Haake then eat Adler for breakfast. The same can be said for DiGiorgio with Campbell. Great review anyway!

Thank you, Omeganex, but I would like to know why, if you don't mind.

One of my favorites of theirs, and of prog in general. Technique put at the service of emotions and music played with great style, inimitable. Dream Theater doesn't exist next to Rush.
Rush Moving Pictures

This album is a solid five, one of the most beautiful records of the '80s and one of the most enduring in prog. With Rush, you can't go wrong: Moving Pictures/2112/Hemispheres/Permanent Waves/A Farewell to Kings..... This is THE music!

Hybris, don’t take it out on the reviewer... just try Opiate and that’s it. If you already know Tool, you know what you’re in for. Don’t worry.
