Zero Hour Specs Of Pictures Burnt Beyond
Voto:
Of the Zero Hour, I only have The Towers of Avarice; I didn't even know the latter had been released. A frightening group from a technical and instrumental point of view, at times reminiscent of Spiral Architect. The Towers was a challenging album, but with more flashes of melody compared to, for example, A Scaptic's Universe. As I mentioned in the other review, the problem with these albums is that, once the initial impact has worn off, they start to become tiresome and too monotonous in their (fake) prolixity. Too cold and mechanical: in my opinion, these are the limits of this kind of prog.

Mastodon Blood Mountain
Voto:
You are too kind with this crap of four words... I just wanted to clarify one thing: the mention of climbing the sacred mountain is not casual; in Blood Mountain, the central theme is precisely this. The Mastodon narrate how difficult it is to climb this mountain and reach its summit (a personal goal of ours) as snares and difficulties (both spiritual and material) hinder the climber's path. All this is obviously conveyed in a less explicit manner but through individual episodes (the songs) that together constitute the entire narrative... like theatrical interludes, little skits that on their own don’t mean much but when put together form the heart of the matter.

They are great, an unmatched reception, a (tragic) fresco of Naples that is truly astonishing... you brought to mind quite a few memories.

The review really sucks, I'm sorry... ocram you must be confusing me with someone else, because I absolutely loved this album (if it wasn't clear yet), even more than the great Leviathan. In my opinion, it’s one of the most significant releases of this year... Mastodon have changed their skin once again.
Derek Jarman Blue (soundtrack)
Voto:
Uhmmm, "the entire duration (76 min) in a single frame saturated in blue, and the voices of Derek Jarman, John Quentin, Nigel Terry and Tilda Swinton, lent to the one character who is, however, invisible in the film, and the protagonist solely through vocal performance".....it must be pretty intense; on one hand, it intrigues me, but on the other hand, it scares me a bit...maybe I’m limited, but I didn’t quite understand some points of the review.

Creepy review, spot on for the group, truly spectacular. I only have Mental Vortex (masterpiece), of course, I will also get Grin, especially after reading this review.

But where the hell do you find these records? Another one of your reviews written awesomely. The latest Ephel Duath is pretty intense, it's hard to tell, if these guys are at the same level then I'm up for the challenge ;-)

Really funny hihihi...even though I think I understood little of the genre proposed by these adversus. Better this way, though, you intrigued me, and I like messy groups.
