Sly And The Family Stone There's A Riot Goin' On
Voto:
It's true Ghemison, the influence of Sly and his family on the Primus is undeniable. I would also add the Fishbone, for example.
Twisted Into Form Then Comes Affliction To Awaken The Dreamer
Voto:
Yes, okay, but aside from the constant changes in tempo, the setbacks, and, as you say, the pure rationality, is there something else? Is it extreme prog like Spiral Architect, Zero Hour, and Spastik Inc.? The recommendation is interesting anyway.

The funk. Period.
Dub Trio New Heavy
Voto:
We Are Not Alone, featured in Peeping Tom, is beautiful, and right there Dub Trio proved to be a band with real balls... I'll definitely get this. Great review.

Excuse me: DaNNy! I'm going crazy!
Adrian Belew Side One
Voto:
Fuck Anal Gore Terror, Adriano is even worse than all the ultra mega-bleargh metal bands out now (note: I like metal). Crazy the album, crazy him and also crazy Les and Dany. I almost forgot: crazy Side Three too. I didn't know he played on Deadwing... insane!!!
Strapping Young Lad SYL

Rating: 4.5. I’ll take the average.
Strapping Young Lad SYL
Voto:
SYL has always been a controversial and debated album among Strapping fans. City is a unique record in the extreme scene and even within Strapping's own discography... we have to come to terms with it!!! SYL is different from City; it was conceived by Townsend in a way that's distinct from its predecessor, it's played differently, has other sounds, etc.... For Strapping, it would probably have been easy to record a City part 2, but it would have been completely pointless from a strictly musical standpoint. SYL has nothing to envy from the other albums of the band; it just has the "disadvantage" of coming after City... try to approach this record with a different mindset, and you’ll see it has many surprises in store for you ;-)

truly speechless...one of the most beautiful reviews I've read on de-baser for me. Speechless, Bartleboom. And then...you can't mention Voivod, Faith No More, King Crimson, and Meshuggah!!! These are at risk of becoming my favorite band! Damn you, Bartle...
