Planningtorock Have It All

You did well to talk about it; at least you tried... and very well, in my opinion. Thank you for introducing me to this artist; I will definitely look her up. By the way, could she be similar to Susanne Sundfor? Although from what you say, Planningtorock seems to be more experimental... anyway, here’s the video of Sundfor's latest single:

There aren't many words to spare for records like this: simply put, this is a killer album. Period. And I believe it's their best, the one where ferocity is channeled to build songs that you can actually sing along to...... "Evictionaries" really hurts! The opening line of the review is frame-worthy :)

This, along with Japan in decline, is one of my favorite reviews. Where can I get the album?
The Secret Solve Et Coagula

I saw them live together with Hierophant (whom I highly recommend, by the way): simply devastating! Minimal stage presence (in the sense that they didn’t move an inch, which is not a given considering the genre), but the music spoke (or rather: screamed) for itself. That night we felt a lot of pain/good. The album is perhaps one of the few examples of this bastard genre in Italy.

I'm listening to it right now: indescribable in how immersive it is. "The day that I would never had" transforms you, and in my opinion, it's the most interesting track on the album. I'll try to get Pale Ravine as well.

I'll look it up right away. Sorry for my ignorance, but what is illbient?
Ulver Wars Of The Roses
Voto:
"What seems to be missing is the innate ability of the Norwegians to disorient, to astonish with solutions that are unexpected, changes in tempo, stylistic novelties, and atmospheric games that are new to them. On the contrary, 'Wars of the Roses' flows much more linearly, at times seeming a bit predictable...: isn't all of this the strength and the sense of this album?....Metal no longer has anything to do with Ulver; just because you hear a somewhat more melodic and shouted vocal line (influenced by the memory that Garm has collaborated and collaborates with metal bands) doesn't mean that style, that timbre needs to be labeled as metal.....Garm sings like this because this is his style and it fits perfectly in Ulver: I really couldn't imagine another voice in his place. Personally, in Wars of the Roses, I hear a lot of '70s psychedelia, particularly that of Pink Floyd, mixed with their long-standing love for electronics :)"

If you listen to it with the notes of the fantastic Shadow of the Sun in mind, you risk being seriously disappointed because War of the Roses is something the Ulver have never done before; for them, it's truly an unprecedented experiment... however, if you listen to it without any expectations (since with them you can never be certain, fortunately), then, in my opinion, you will appreciate it much more. One thing is certain: this album will divide both the audience and critics. And only the greats can really do that.
