Wolok Universal Void
Voto:
".....Wolok is the monstrous and deformed child of the prevailing relativism that has killed objective reality; Wolok is the schizophrenia of the modern Self; Wolok is the torturous consequence of a life prolonged beyond the limits imposed by the laws of nature; Wolok is the victory of artifice over flesh; Wolok is the emblem of humanity collapsing upon itself; Wolok is awareness and desire of the impending end. Wolok is Absence. Wolok is Void." Congratulations. Which of the countless essays?
Discordance Axis The Inalienable Dreamless

I’ll start by saying: compliments on the choice of the group, Discordance Axis are among the most original things that grind has offered in recent years, and I completely agree with the first two paragraphs. Starting from the third, I no longer find myself in agreement, haha: every type of music, whatever it is, has its own particular message, including death and brutal. The problem, in my opinion, is that genres have been compared (punk and hardcore on one side, and extreme metal on the other) that come from different principles: if the message isn’t clear from the outset, definable, political, and explicit, does that mean that genre doesn’t contain one? Metal talks about certain subjects, just as punk does: consequently, the music will reflect that type of attitude and approach that a band chooses to adopt. In short: the message exists, indeed! As for grind: I see it as a bridge between metal and hardcore, and bands like early Napalm Death, Carcass, and Brutal Truth are a perfect example (even if Carcass are the most "controversial" and I understand why you mentioned them...). As for music: before being a social phenomenon and entertainment, it is first and foremost an expression of something absolutely deep and internal, which only becomes a phenomenon (i.e., directly observable and comprehensible from a purely external point of view) once externalized through sounds and notes; so let’s be cautious when we label metal merely as "a form of entertainment"... people like Celtic Frost, Mayhem, Slayer, Bathory are there to prove it with their experience.

I will definitely look for it, also because I listened to the latest release this summer and I was blown away by how good it is. Great review, bold or not...
Esoteric The Pernicious Enigma (disc 1)

Everything is right and true, but allow me to say that it seems quite strange to me that a person who writes certain things and quotes Max Heindel makes so many spelling mistakes... excuse me, but the doubt remains, and in any case, I am allowed to express it (without seeming skeptical or cynical). Apart from this, there is very little talk about music, and it's hard to understand what the great Esoteric play, too hidden by the dense web of words and concepts. Maybe next time ;)

Hats off to a band that truly made history, revolutionizing everything that needed to be revolutionized: the records are there to prove it (and I second Uglypanda on this). Interesting review, especially since you managed not to mention the merdallica while talking about Newsted XD

Darkwave and medieval folk? damn, that's intriguing..... "...the Faun demonstrate how important and effective it is to broaden one’s musical (and perhaps even spiritual) horizons": in my opinion, one thing leads to another ;)

"...a 'I don't care' that would do good to everyone...": mmmm, I wouldn't know how to put it that way, also because completely not caring doesn't seem very beneficial. Anyway, rather than tolerance, we should talk about respect and understanding of others' choices; having done that, everyone then decides for themselves whether to adhere to a certain principle, without the arrogance of claiming what is truly right or wrong... no one possesses the truth in their pocket, but the willingness to understand and intelligence, well damn, I really think that's the case. @ 47: sorry for the second time XD
