Aphex Twin Come To Daddy Ep
Voto:
Unripe this ep? Well, I don't really agree Michoos what. Richard D. James' album is something absolutely unique and brilliant; Come to Daddy was released a year later, and indeed it picks up a lot of the style from that previous album... I don't see how it can be "unripe" nor less elaborate compared to Drukqs, another album of his that I love, very different from the ones we've mentioned...

Good job Psycroptic, you did well to remember the cover made by DEP: this shows how Aphex Twin's art lends itself well to certain schizophrenic revisitations (and anyway, get this EP between one Ob(Servant) and another, then let me know ;)) @Blackdog: the good Richard no longer convinces you like he used to?

For those who haven't seen it yet (and want to stay psychologically shocked): The video is directed by Chris Cunningham, almost "the Aphex Twin of music videos"; the two crazies have collaborated a lot together… on that note, also check out the videos for Widowlicker and Rubber Johnny.

Thank you for the clarification, Jake... one question, since I don’t understand much (in general): can Wikipedia be considered an open source text?

Beautiful album, fully respecting tradition. Great idea to set to music just one song, and one of the most beautiful from the Divine Comedy. Perfect review ;) P.S. the Black Widow dominates!

Great point, Jake. "Distribution mode of a product that allows for use, modification, copying...": in what sense is the modification of the product? This copyleft is interesting, and it's nice to see how "ambiguous" tools like the internet, when used in the right and conscious way, can benefit everyone.

Great, nothing to say, even though I haven't heard this. The Score remains a very beautiful and unique album. But wasn't there some kind of reunion in the works (or am I remembering wrong)?
Nachtmystium Assassins: Black Meddle Part 1

And I join in praising the band and the album: truly fantastic, I’m not saying it’s a product that will shape a decade (we can only say that in hindsight) but certainly Nachtmystium's work is highly personal and original... who knows what they'll come up with in the future. I see Deathspell Omega and Nachtmystium as quite different, even though both are absolutely great.

Let's give ourselves a big "break a leg" for this new, interesting section. In my opinion, reviews are essentially about dissemination, not a replacement for the reviewed object: both reviews and novels/stories/essays fall within the broad category of literature, but they start from different principles and therefore have different purposes. Meanwhile, I would like to congratulate the Doctor for the proposal that may interest me (proving that reviews are indeed useful).
Paolo Conte Elegia

Elegia is a superb song... so much melancholy, as is Molto Lontano: for me, these are the two most representative pieces of the album.
