Verdena Live @ Villa Solaria, Sesto Fiorentino - 28.06.07

I had strong prejudices against Verdena... I considered them a clone of Nirvana in every way... But I have to say that over time, I had to change my mind... They are an honest band, they play well (especially the drummer) and they really kick ass live.

I already knew Kennedy from Mayfield Four, which I also reviewed, while I've sung Alter Bridge's album to the point of exhaustion... Such a great voice! I've always liked Renga, both as a solo artist and with Timoria. He has a beautiful voice, a great tone, and a good range... I think he's one of the best voices around, along with the singer from Deasonika. Don't get me started on Jeff Buckley; he makes me nervous just to listen to him. I think, along with his father, he is one of the greatest singers I've ever heard... A unique and inimitable voice... He switched registers in a monstrous way and did whatever he pleased (it was just his nature...). I've never tried to tackle Tyler and I never will, I told you that (when you don’t have it in your range, you just don’t have it). I’ve never had major vocal drops. Occasionally, but my voice has always bounced back quickly. I'm really sorry for you... Try to recover it as soon as possible. I attempted to sing Renga’s "Senza Vento" and "Sangue Impazzito." I had heard about Steelheart, but I've never listened to anything. Great range? You’ve piqued my curiosity. I need to find new monsters... My search never ends, even though lately I’ve let myself go a bit and my range has dropped a little. High notes feel forced and I can't climb like I used to a few years ago... I've never tried to do "Tracce di Te," but it's really tough. Do you like LaBrie's singing from Dream Theater?

Duane, you shoot statements without arguing... I hope you realize... At least Lanfranco provided thorough arguments... You piece of shit and jerk! Run for the Pulitzer.

Captain, you know what I'm telling you? I somewhat agree with your decision to abandon a bit.

Shoot me using "you"? No, I prefer to stay in this world a little longer to read your far-sighted comments.. Duane, the repetitions are off-key.. I’m glad I wasted my life listening to the best bands (including Iron) and one of the best voices ever (Yes, beautiful, the voice of Chris Cornell - golden era Soundgarden). You guys make me feel like guttalax. If you keep it up a little longer, I’ll poop myself, then load the weapon and shoot myself. That way I’ll put an end to my wasted life listening to Metal.. How foolish!

I'm glad I found a metal singer.. Well, I can tell you that Bach had an exceptional voice (I don't know about live..), I found it difficult to sing "18 & Life" or "I Remember You," I'll leave Tyler to those who have it in their range, I will never try to sing an Aerosmith piece, such a unique voice.. Let's leave Mercury where he is.. I admit I don't know Michael Matijevic, give me some clarification.. Dickinson comes quite naturally to me, we have a similar way of singing, although I find certain things decidedly challenging. Temple of the Dog, making myself work hard (I only learned the basics of singing and breathing from a teacher, then it became too expensive..) and learning from my mistakes, I managed to sing it.. But Jesus Christ Pose or Beyond the Wheel are unmanageable for me.. Robert Plant gives me some difficulties, while Gillan.. Well, he was Gillan.. His high notes are beyond my throat's capacity.. In Italy, I have always adored Dio Stratos, Jon DeLeo, Francesco Renga (with Timoria) and a few others.. Jeff Buckley and especially Tim make me nervous just listening to them.. I'll never understand falsetto, I can't apply the technique.. Meanwhile, I love Uncle Mike Patton, one of the best I've ever listened to.. I had a band some time ago, we did covers of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against the Machine, Alice in Chains, Faith No More, Deep Purple, etc.. and some of our own pieces. Do you have a band?
