Damn, instead Sid Vicious is living in the Bahamas with Johnny Rotten and they’re still doing concerts all over the world!

What a load of crap. Nevermind was the album of a generation and it still sparks discussions today. It can be incredibly relevant when viewed in the current musical context; few albums today have the impact and freshness of this one, a finely crafted blend of pop, punk, raw fury, and melody, the answer to what was dominating those years: Guns 'n' Roses above all. Cobain & co. delivered a right hook to the face and an uppercut to the chin with simple, immediate songs, devoid of flashy solos, yet bizarre, crooked, and technically unorthodox, but which paired with those tracks felt genius. A voice that didn’t give a damn about technique or octaves, but managed to shake your brain and guts with its power and desperation. Cobain's liberating scream, as fake as you might consider it at times, was a beacon for thousands of young people waiting silently for a change, a band to truly believe in, someone who represented them, who understood their discomfort and spat it out in music and screams. Nevermind is pop, sure, Nevermind isn’t the best Nirvana album, and we get it, but you really didn’t get a damn thing. I wore this album out; it was one of those that opened up a whole new world for me. Today, I wouldn’t be able to listen to it with the spirit and rage of those days, but it’s a great album, no doubt about it. Forget about Use Your Illusion or Blood Sugar Sex & Magic! And then… ENOUGH! Let it rest in peace.

I saw some videos of Say Hello to Heaven sung by Cornell recently and, even though his voice is gone now, the old Chris still managed to pull it off.. Long live Tokio Hotel!! Vvtttb!!
