Tori Amos Crucify
Voto:
Hi Captain, some time ago I saw the cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" made by Paul Anka and I could almost hear Cobain flipping in his grave. Then I saw a cover by Amos and thought, "Let's give it a listen..." Well, there are ways and ways to reinterpret songs written by others. Some do it for money and don’t dig deep, while others, having scratched the soul of the song and left a mark, reinterpret it through their personal vision and make it "theirs," like the good old Jeff Buckley (R.I.P.) used to do. For me, Tori's cover left something inside, something deep, and I appreciated it a lot. Well done, great review as usual.

You can't even make a healthy joke anymore... Alright, I’m sorry. I don’t think I was very offensive; I was just teasing in a playful and ironic way. If you were offended, I apologize. But to go from that to death threats over a comment about Drim Tiater seems a bit excessive to me. And it seems to me that you made the more serious insults, or am I wrong?

Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinch! Threatening death over a discussion about Drim Tiater? And what if they touch your family, what do you do? Do you possess weapons of mass destruction?

"Well... everyone who criticizes them are real idiots who don't understand a damn thing about music!" (Thank goodness you're here to enlighten us.. Amen!) I'm crazy in love with them, (So did you go to the concert at 90 with your pants down?) I've seen all their DVDs, (Mind your own business.. What a bore!) I know all the albums (Wow!) and I know all the songs by heart (Nice head, congratulations!) and to top it off, I saw them the other day in Rome for the first time (You're the number 1 fan and you just saw them now?)... they were magnificent, (Oh God) the concert was nothing short of a success, (I'm almost getting emotional) all the kids were singing their songs (this happens at Vasco and GGiggi D'Alessio's concerts too), some (like me) mesmerized watching them and their magical instruments (Were they forged by Merlin the wizard?)... the audience engagement by Dream was truly remarkable (You're crazy..); my idol James La Brie gave a vocal performance that left me, like others, shocked. (Aside from the grammar of thought which is nothing short of mind-blowing, are you out of your mind? Your idol? Are you 12 years old?) The great Petrucci during his solos would position himself in the center of the stage and if anyone says he's showing off, he can because he can afford to, being one of the best guitarists in the world (Is it too much to ask to reread before sending the comment?); Myung always serious but does his excellent work as usual (Wouldn't he otherwise not play at a professional level?); Ruddess was unleashed and at a certain point he picked up a keyboard slung over his shoulder, walking around the stage demonstrating his experience with music (AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Even Sandy Marton used to walk around with a keyboard hanging from his neck!); finally, the genius, Portnoy, great man, great drummer, great! (In terms of body size?) Seeing them live is a whole different experience, and when you criticize, throwing out only nonsense after having heard just a few songs, don’t do it: watch some of their DVDs first or better yet see them live (For heaven's sake no, no, no, and then no. I'd prefer Battleship Potemkin in Polish with German subtitles) ... you won't regret it! If you have something to say, feel free to speak... but I won't accept provocations. (Well screw you.. Have I provoked you enough?)

Great album.. Dave Grohl has either lost his mind or Josh offered him something really good.. I will never get tired of listening to it. One of the best of recent years.

Great album, the latest from PJ that moved me. "Brain of J" has an overwhelming rhythm; I remember playing it over and over in the car a billion times, it gave me an incredible boost. "Given to Fly" is a masterpiece; Vedder evokes spirits and opens your heart with his singing.. Not the best, but definitely a great album.
