The Eagles Their Greatest Hits, 1972-75

Okay Junio and Dave, but then why have the collections of Zepp, Pink Floyd, and AC/DC sold less than their most successful albums? Or should we just wait and by 2030 all these big names will have a greatest hits as their best-selling work like the Eagles?

The discussion about what the best-selling album in the world is and what the most reliable source of information is, to put it in dere-cano's words, is a matter of little consequence. I would like someone to write an opinion on why a compilation of songs sells ten times more than the sum of the individual albums from which it is drawn.

No Mec-cano, it's not as trivial as you say. Stores are full of five-euro CDs that nobody pays attention to, and the commercial offices of the majors have always been teeming with brilliant initiatives, blanket campaigns, and creative consultations to sell a product. It takes nothing to sell a million copies of any music if you "push" it like crazy and spend a fortune on advertising, but nothing guarantees you'll sell fifteen, twenty, thirty million. So "Rumours," "Back In Black," "Led Zepp IV," "Thriller," "Boston," "Saturday Night Fever" all have something special and universal about them.

You have improved so much, Axl. Keep it up. There's a lot to say, and not just about the sacred monsters of music.

It is precisely the glorious past of the group that undermines these albums, which, taken on their own, could even withstand a fair evaluation. There is a sense of annoyance regarding the commercial and simplistic choices. In short, the album is worth three stars, but I give it two because similar career choices need to be curtailed in some way. I agree that "Fading Lights" is a great track, definitely their best since Abacab.
Royal Hunt Paradox

I own this CD. Your review is enthusiastic, but the Royal Hunt just did not reach my heart. Great singer with a deadly falsetto, excellent technique, skill, energy, but a cold execution of the genre’s stylistic elements, in my opinion.

I share Senmayan's opinion. This album will surely be subpar, but it would have been even if it had been released in 1988. The fact that it is out of fashion actually reinforces, albeit slightly, the respect for these musicians, who are definitely not following trends and are therefore playing this genre out of true passion.

For those who don't know, it was also by the late Dalida and it was called "Un po' d'amore." Perfect reception, Shark, compliments.

There are no bullshit.
Syd Barrett The Madcap Laughs

In my opinion, it's exhibitionistic and very uninspired.
