True for me as well: the best albums by Asia are Aqua from '92 and Aura from 2000, in my opinion.

On the other hand, your beloved Velvet Underground and Brian Eno make me cringe, for example. See how varied the world is.

If someone who came out of the conservatory told me that, I would respond that the adjective "so-called" is precisely there to dismantle the nickname given to Suite No. 2 in B minor, just like your "IMPROPRIATELY." The two pieces you mentioned are among the many excellent ones from what is my favorite Procol album, for its British Rock leanings (a genre among my favorites), which at one moment made it sit wonderfully alongside the great contemporary releases of Free, Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull (I’m referring to "My God" and especially "Aqualung," which has an intro that is somehow very similar to "Simple Sister"), Chicago (the initial atmosphere of their "24 or 6 to 4" from the previous year is in fact identical to "Simple Sister," even in the timbre of the guitar). However, I share what you say afterward: in my talk about the outstanding pieces of Procol Harum, I refer more to their actual success, to the historical memory for which no one remembers "Broken Barricades" while the early singles are part of Humanity's heritage. I love "Broken Barricades" and its alternation between Trower's rock blues pieces and Brooker's progressive pop ones.

Alright, thanks, I'll give it a listen, even though I'm a bit biased against lyricists trying their hand at pop. After all, this song has been covered by a multitude of artists (Joe Cocker, Annie Lennox, the Chameleons...)

Before anyone points it out, I clarify that the "arcane" lyrics of the song are not by Gary Brooker, but rather by the band's lyricist Keith Reid. I apologize.

I don't know... I don't forget anything that relates to or is at least partly inspired by the seventies (or late sixties), like this one. Unfortunately, I still find myself with a disproportionately large share of eighties rock (AOR, glam, street, etc.) in my house, and it's this crowd (House of Lords, Slaughter, Night Ranger, Aerosmith, BB Steal, Warrant, Damn Yankees, Danger Danger, Dare, Dokken, Extreme, etc.) that fills my forgotten corner.

If we look at it in general terms, I fully agree with you, but personally, I can discriminate without any issues: Rino Gaetano, for example, is another "Cadavere" and "character after death," as you say, but I have never found in him an ounce of the "art amplified disproportionately by misfortune (in this case)," so (as you always assert) "it's all crap."
