Soundgarden Down on the Upside
Voto:
My favorite album by Soundgarden, in turn my favorite grunge band. There's more songwriting, more structure, more melody, less noise, less punk, fewer low frequencies than everything that came before in their discography. The vocals are even more prodigious, truly the pinnacle in the realm of desperate and pessimistic hard rock/metal.

What to say.
Better to say nothing.
Or almost... three things:
Nice review
Tenco a great one.
My favorite song of his is "Se stasera sono qui." It struck a deep chord in my soul, and it still vibrates, strong.

Quarterflash Quarterflash
Voto:
I’m quite attached to Quarterflash and own four of their six albums.
80s pop rock music, Yamaha Dx7 ringing out at full blast... stuff that feels outdated, but I revisit it every now and then.
My favorite work of theirs is the third one, "Back into Blue," followed by "Take Another Picture." The self-titled first album only comes in third in my preferences.
The fourth, "Girl in the Wind," is mediocre... the last two I've never heard yet.
Roland Orzabal Tomcats Screaming Outside
Voto:
I love Roland Orzabal and Tears, including the latest "Everybody Loves...".
I don't like this album.
Because I don't like the genre.
Since Orzabal is involved, a genius of pop, I give it my sufficiency.
There are melodic shards here and there that deserve it.
You are absolutely right about the Tears being highly regarded even technically, that is, in terms of sounds, rhythms, and arrangements: back in the day, I personally saw, at the Fonoprint studios in Bologna, the CD "The Seeds of Love" resting clearly on one of the Yamaha mixing speakers, while the producer Malavasi was mixing "Bella Signora" by Gianni Morandi.

Pendragon Love Over Fear
Voto:
I will listen to the album and I hope to warm up again with Pendragon like when I discovered them with the album "The World," which unfortunately remains the only one to completely convince me. A sponge, the boss of Pendragon, Nick Barrett: happily sucks from the bottle of Pink Floyd, Genesis, Gilmour, Hackett, Gabriel, Yes, Marillion, IQ, and the gang, only to spit out music in his own way, swaying between these various conceptions of progressive rock.
A derivative band, then, but all is well when there are melodies, concepts, sounds, balance, enthusiasm, epicness, and conviction. Everything becomes dull, however, when the melodies are weak, Barrett's guitar is unnecessarily verbose (he's not such a creative guitarist... every now and then, yes, for a couple of minutes), and the structures of the songs are too blatantly inspired by previous and foreign works.
A band that deserves a 7 out of 10, Pendragon. I hope this album raises the average a bit. I might come back to update it. Great review.
