But in fact your review is utterly honest, nothing to argue about. It's just that, contrary to you, this album has touched me deeply. I give it the status of a masterpiece because it resonates with me during a time when I'm drawn to a very different genre of music. It's a very personal assessment of mine...

Here, exactly, let's make sure they don't cause any trouble here. Anyone... You have to ignore these people, you'll see they'll feel lonely afterwards...

Well, for me it's a masterpiece. And above all, where's the hip hop? The greatness of this album, in my opinion, lies in its compositional level (I would give anything to be able to write a song like "The clock," a mantra of the third millennium) and in the work, as always, of Nigel Godrich. Greenwood has made solo albums, and it seems to me they haven't left a mark. I think we’ll still be talking about this in ten years. The real genius is Yorke, in Radiohead. Anyway, as a friend of mine used to say, "de gustibus non se discutibus." ;)

This is the rest of Mameli's anthem: "From the Alps to Sicily everywhere is Legnano, every man of Ferruccio has heart and hand: the children of Italy are called Balilla, the sound of every bell rang at dusk. Let us unite! We are ready for death, Italy has called. They are reeds that unfurl the sold swords, already the Eagle of Austria has lost its feathers. The blood of Italy and the Polish blood was drunk with the Cossack, but it burned in the heart." Now, I’m not saying we should change it every twenty years, but we are talking about something that is defined as outdated, isn’t it clear? Besides, I’m curious to know how many Italians know this part of the anthem and if they especially understand what it means in its entirety. Meanwhile, I offer my hair, before victory, to ignorance, since I am groping in the dark. The Polish blood was missing... ;)

Anyway, well, I have to thank you. I'm not joking, I truly mean it. You have been, involuntarily, a great exercise for me to see if the Buddhist practice I've decided to implement has yielded any results. Through you, I have understood some things about myself. I repeat, I'm not joking. If I could, I would buy you a beer. Honestly. Now you are allowed to say that I’m sick... ;)

A review that's a bit too lengthy, but that's fine. I find that Tool has become too convoluted and too much like themselves. I loved "Aenima" (in my opinion, their only masterpiece); after that, they started to annoy me. First, because you can't release an album once in a blue moon, and second, because on a sound level, they seem basically stuck ten years ago. Then there are these songs that are fifteen minutes long... I don't know... Nothing to say, of course, about the technical and "atmospheric" side of the album. However, I believe that if they used to be a band that could be appreciated even by people not used to the genre (like me, for example), now they're somewhat ghettoizing themselves. But it’s just an opinion.

In my opinion, they are a great band and I find it hard to understand how a group with such long experience can be so famous among teenagers. Especially since the lyrics are not that silly. I really like this album; overall, it’s on the same level as "Transatlanticism" (although I agree with those who say there is a slight dip). Maybe they should add something new, but the Gibbard/Tamborello project (the Postal Service) is really an interesting outlet. Live, it must be said, they are quite aggressive...
