Francis Ford Coppola The Godfather (Part I, II, III)
Voto:
I think they are among the 3 most quoted films in all of cinema. The third is a bit below the others while the second is one of the few (if not the only) sequels to surpass the first. In short, we are not facing a film by the Vanzina brothers. Poletti made a mistake by reviewing them all together: each of them deserves a space just for itself. On the other hand, it must be said that he does better with films than with music.
Peter Weir The Truman Show

I like it, but I agree with easycure: Weir wasn’t the most suitable for making a film like that. In my opinion, it needed someone more "edgy."

the less stinky shit doesn’t automatically become caviar (what an ornate language)
Mario Monicelli I Soliti Ignoti (1958)

bastalà: a typical exclamation of Piedmontese origin, to be pronounced in the appropriate dialect. translation: a great film.

the first half of the album is nice, much less so the second (the chorus of Ok papà gets on my nerves). Gaetano has written great lyrics, but from a musical perspective, I'm not really convinced.

Antonello Venditti Sotto il Segno dei Pesci

...In Florence, we stayed at an intellectual's place, the right kind of face and all the rest. He told us: "No, comrades, friends, I disapprove of the step. There's a lack of analysis and, besides, I don’t have the helmet. But bomb or no bomb, we will reach Rome, despite you." In Orvieto, there was then the apotheosis: the mayor, the band, and the flags in hand told us: "The highway is blocked, and they won't let you pass, but let it be clear that we, we are all with you, and bomb or no bomb, you will arrive in Rome, despite us."
David Lynch The Elephant Man

Why do you keep reviewing films that I’ve seen and really love? The film I enjoy the most from Lynch. A few years ago, I had to jump through hoops to find it on DVD; now it’s available in all the supermarkets. Bah!
