Certainly a commendable job, but not all the tracks are at the level of Eight Miles High, Hey Joe (almost unrecognizable if one only knows Hendrix's version and those who covered it inspired by his) and the title track. Better to be after (Younger, Notorious) than before (Mr Tamburino).

If I could only give 5, I would feel compelled to lower all the other ratings given so far. Adorably dark, my favorite record from the dark/post-punk scene of that era. The only flaw is not including the tremendously beautiful Bela Lugosi's Death.

I often hear people say that Blue Lines is the best by Massive, but in my opinion, this one beats it hands down. Even though they had been sampling for a while back in the days of Blue Lines, here it's clear that their sound is more "mature," or at least more suited to my taste.
Soundgarden Badmotorfinger

In my opinion, their best album, one that gains in cohesiveness and quality of compositions without them becoming formulaic or merely a product of simple revivalism. And then Jesus Christ Pose is awesome.
Earthless Sonic Prayer

Stratrippone, compact and monolithic, just the way I like it.

They also made a decent little disc, Metallo non metallo, but this one, apart from 2-3 tracks, I find quite mediocre. Sure, there were better things in Italy at the time, but I don’t consider them worthless because of that. Then, in my opinion, putting Timoria (what a nightmare) and Negrita (brrrrrr) on a higher pedestal is excessive.

Wow, fantastic. I still have to listen to them, but I'll get to it as soon as possible because from the description they seem just like what I enjoy.
Santana Borboletta
Voto:
I have to say that my opinion is identical to that of the reviewer. Santana's jazz turn has never really captivated me, not even in his major works: I prefer the first three (extraordinary) albums. Abraxas is a timeless masterpiece, the best of the bunch, and Borboletta is just a weak follow-up.

Sometimes I think that if the atmosphere of The Seventh Seal had a musical counterpart, it would be represented by the Concert of Minds: tension, darkness, ink.

Seen in Turin at Traffic this summer: they were amazing. I expected to find them a bit rusty, but I was proven wrong. They fantastically delivered the songs from Lungo I Bordi (the ones I remember most vividly, since at that time I only knew that).
