Sting If On A Winter's Night...
Voto:
I'm not a big fan of the latest Sting, in fact, I haven't listened to this album, but I would have criticized that instead of his recent artistic direction. Personally, I prefer a rockstar with decades behind them who chooses to "fool around" and indulge in a few experiments, taking themselves lightly, one of those who pretend to still believe in it or, worse sometimes, actually believe it. Will Iron Maiden be better, with their one hundred fifty-seventh studio album coming out soon?

As a decent fan of Dylan Dog, I had thought about taking a look; someone even told me it was a masterpiece, but I had a feeling it was going to be crap... I don't know, I'm torn.

I don't agree. Visually, yes, it may be inferior to Apocalypse Now, but I believe the essence of the film lies elsewhere. Apocalypse Now was mainly a visionary masterpiece, while this one seemed more focused on the human and moral aspects of the situation, and from that standpoint, I don't consider it inferior. Anyway, a shout-out to the cast; I remember when I saw it for the first time, I thought of Charlie Sheen in the various Hot Shots, etc., and seeing him get off that plane made me smile a bit; by the way, the legendary Dr. Cox from Scrubs is also here.

Anyway, I don't know about others, but the fact that even a personal hero of mine like Chris Cornell can "make mistakes" makes me feel a bit closer to him, rather than the opposite. A bit more human and less rockstar.

I largely agree with the review, but in my opinion, the operation wasn't so much about "selling out," but rather an attempt to do something different, even honestly, while somewhat riding the wave and seeking commercial appeal. In short, it’s not that it’s a better option, but I see it more as an artistic failure than a major marketing operation. PS Timbaland is not a hip-hop producer; Rick Rubin is a hip-hop producer. Timbaland produces pop (most of the time crap).

The review is definitely more ZOT! than the name... it's always nice to know that somewhere in the world there are certain oddballs.

Why did you avoid it?? If I happen to go back to London, I absolutely have to go there... anyway, I agree with you, and the characteristic you mention is truly striking in Aldwych; in the fourth, things changed a bit, definitely fewer huge "ring-shaped" levels, but only because some sections consisted of more levels that intersected at various points! What a touch of class, what memories! I'm feeling nostalgic.

@Enea, I've always wondered if Aldwych really existed, and if so, I would have liked to go see it. Probably one of the most memorable levels ever created.

Franci, listen to Cornell who has more experience and common sense than you (not that it takes much). You say too many bullshit, if only it were at least from your own mind...
