I don't understand why this goat, with the voice it has (the genre makes me sick, but the vocal talent is undeniable) has to sing such a disaster... A wasted gift...

Ugly as hunger, as death, the plague, leprosy, and ringworm all together, a voice compared to which Dave Mustaine is a singing master, diva attitudes from a toilet disguised as a wandering commode. PAUSINI DESERVES TO DIE!

Great record, I wanted to write the review too, but you beat me to it.

No, wait. I didn't claim that Newsted was great in terms of instrumental technique, but on a personal and stage level. You can't tell me that watching Live Shit doesn't give you goosebumps from how he pours himself into the performance, from his exceptional grit. You're right to say that Cliff was truly exceptional, but in my opinion, Newsted was more of a "character."

Since I have already expressed my opinions on this product, I will now make some considerations about the 4 horsemen (of the Zodiac?):
James Hetfield: I liked him so much, really, until around 1988; then it went downhill until alcohol rehabilitation (a huge mistake).
Kirk Hammett: When he was young, he made me laugh uncontrollably with those silly faces and the same descending scales, then during the Load period he got all fancy (he looked like one of the Placebo...), then came the wah-wah... THE WAH-WAH!!! This man cannot live without it! He sticks it into everything, and only to cover up his technical messes! I understand he likes it, but torturing us with wah-wah variations for 2 hours of concert is A TRITE!
Lars Ulrich: Why didn't Dave Mustaine (when he was Dave Mustaine, but that's another story) beat him up until he was a pile of malformed and smelly flesh? Why didn’t he die instead of Cliff (may his soul rest in peace), why is he so incompetent? I swear, if I ever meet him, I’ll give him an uppercut so strong that I’ll break my wrist; I truly cannot stand him.
Jason Newsted: HE WAS GREAT.
The moral of the story? Metallica should have called it quits after Justice. Then, if I were Newsted, I would have kicked Lars Ulrich out, I would have hidden the wah from Kirk Hammett, and I would have locked Hetfield in a room with Mustaine, who, if I may say, would have lynched him alive. Perhaps, after this "ritual," history would have taken a different turn: the black album would NEVER have come out, Newsted would still be on stage belting it out with James, Kirk, and a serious drummer behind the kit. Maybe they would have stopped a few years later, but now they would be part of music history, and no one could object to anything.

Tony Iommi is not a virtuoso (let's remember we're talking about 1970...), but in the metal scene he introduced several innovations, including the use of dropped tunings like C standard. Not that this was intentional at first (Iommi did it to soften the strings, thus managing to play despite his severed fingertips), but today many serious bands use low tunings. Some examples? Necrophagist (D standard); Death (same); Nile (Drop A); Cryptopsy (B standard); Amon Amarth (B standard); Dying Fetus (C#) and many more... oh, I almost forgot, great album!
