Cretinalbo, really, let it go, yours is a stance dictated by the fact that you're a die-hard fan; pistolpete explained to you how wrong you are. On the matter of Morello, I can agree with you, but what I judge is the group as a whole. If you want to trash all 90s rock bands, you're free to do so, but at least do it with knowledge. I won't mention Nirvana, and you talk about them like a fool (perhaps because you only know them well)!

Cretinalbo, fika was a word meant to keep things calm, but if you respond seriously with at least questionable statements, I have no choice but to send you to that place; as I said before, I don't want to continue this conversation. You, no longer a sixteen-year-old, keep shouting the profound lyrics of RATM while they are overwhelmed by the money of the majors for a cash-grab reunion.

I was sick with groups like Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Smashing Pumpkins (at 16, I was truly in awe), Screaming Trees, Jeff Buckley, Pearl Jam, knowing everything (and I mean everything) about Seattle and its surroundings... a bit 90's one-track-minded. Alright, let's not continue with this topic otherwise we'll end up in a high-risk brawl cycle :)

I agree with the discussions about market stall politics made in the previous posts.. And, apparently, I consider myself one of the few lucky ones not to identify RATM as one of the bands from my adolescence; I listened to cooler people!

"Everyone knows that the music called 'Grunge' comes from heavy metal." I didn't know that, because I don't know what metal elements Mudhoney have. And what about Screaming Trees? Are they Grunge? And does Grunge even exist?

My dear Stoney, you’re nice, you're not evil, but every now and then you make such ridiculous claims that they don't fit on a page of Debaser. If you say TOTAL absence of palm muting, take responsibility for your nonsense, and don't call us stupid; we’re not in your head, so we interpret what you write.

If you then get into the technicality, stoney, you're wrong again.. Them bones is in palm muting, the attack of Grind is in palm muting, I could give you more examples but I'll stop here. You see metal as the musical devil, maybe because you only have Metallica and other random bands in mind. And what kind of friends do you have? LOL

Well done, little doggie, I’ll make you look good! I really wouldn’t be able to imagine a post-tripod album.

But excuse me, it’s not that when we talk about metal we have to necessarily talk about crap.. Facelift is an album that has a lot of metal (logically not all), the riffs are a fundamental part of metal, sorry. AIC are among the Seattle bands that have the most metal influences, more than punk and similar genres. This is a well-known fact, there’s not even a need to discuss it.

Well, you haven't really downscaled what I said.. Facelift is their most derivative album, right now I couldn't listen to it, just like Dirt. It's the self-titled one that ages the best, the vocal overdubs create a claustrophobic and disorienting effect, the sounds are deliberately darker and less brilliant than previous works. All of this is fantastic :)!
