Well.. my judgment is harsh as the compositional quality of some pieces (actually, many) leaves a bit to be desired.. I had heard so much praise that I was expecting the Album of the Year. That wasn't the case. I don't agree that shoegaze was dead and buried; Amusement Parks On Fire are still around it; other more well-known bands like Mercury Rev in their early days and Mogwai themselves have a bit of shoegaze in their veins. This is just my humble opinion..
