Carmen Consoli Eva Contro Eva

Ah, for the record, I think a 3 is more than fair.

Exaggerated score (especially considering the conclusion)... For the rest, you write excellently, and you know it, but I can't help but wrinkle my nose at the statement that Carmen is "completely misunderstood by a large part of the audience." I believe that truly valid and misunderstood artists are others; I think of Beatrice Antolini, Ginevra Di Marco, Paolo Benvegnù, and even Cristina Donà (if we exclude her recent releases), singer-songwriters who truly deserve much more than what they have achieved so far.

It may have personal and non-disseminating value, but you haven't written anything that hasn't already been said in other (disseminating) texts about this record. The personal reflections at the end of the piece seem a bit negligible to me, but the overall work isn't bad. I would ask all future derecensori intending to write about this record to pay attention to the rating. You truly cannot assign a miserable 3 to certain masterpieces, even if it was an accident.
George Winston Night Divides The Day: The Music Of The Doors

I mean, no one has commented on you yet? And to think that that nth, colorless review of Velvet Underground (what a drag!) above you on the homepage has been filled with votes and comments... I really like Winston even though I've never listened to this. Great mention!

Ah...serendipity! Fascinating story...but I would have listened to the samples :(
Cristina Comencini La Bestia Nel Cuore

A nice and "decent" film, but with somewhat uncertain results considering the ambitions it seems to have... Then the ending with the protagonist's waters breaking while simultaneously, in a flashback, the water overwhelms her old house and her childhood is full of obvious and telegraphed symbolism. Mezzogiorno is better here than in any other film, but she continues to get on my nerves; she's unnatural, academic, perpetually sulky... overrated, she doesn't convince me at all. Good review.

Oh my god, I just realized that I wrote "migliori a" instead of "migliori di" in my comment... I'm very embarrassed. Anyway, captain... do you think the topic smells like it's delicate to tackle here? Do you think I would attract the dislikes of the debaseriani if I say that cover is a great cover in my opinion? Anyway, my curiosity was pretty self-serving: do you (or anyone else who is a fan of Tori, Kurt, or music gossip in general) know what Kurt thought about Tori's cover? Over the years, I've read quite conflicting articles about it... according to some, he even stated at one point that he didn't want to sing it live anymore because it was supposed to be like that (i.e., like Tori's version). According to others, Kurt referred to Tori's cover as the "breakfast cereal version" and, together with his wife, would joke about it by dancing to it first thing in the morning. The first version frankly seems a bit unreliable to me, and now I can't even find anything about it online. You, who are EWF with a capital E, know anything more? O Captain, my captain... enlighten me :P (I apologize for my Italian today, but I'm studying for an exam and my brain is fried.)

God, what a drag and a pity this anonymous person is! Captain, sorry, but I don’t know what to comment; this review caught me off guard a bit. I was really enjoying the first part, even though it's more of a biography than a review as Mien says... but the final part, which should be more incisive, is overly brief and says too little about the single in question. It’s true that there’s not much to say (according to many; not in my opinion), and it’s true that it’s probably consistent with the approach you wanted to maintain (a page more narrative than critical), but I would have preferred if you had spent a few more words on covers that, while perhaps inferior to the originals, are beautiful and far better (in my opinion) than those on Strange Little Girls. And unfortunately, the closing isn’t the best either :( So now I find myself in a dreadful dilemma… 5 for the page in general, 3 and 1/2 for the review itself… an average of 4.25… I should round down, but since I hate doing that, I’ll give you a 5… when you come back to comment, I have some things to ask you about the cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit...
