Damn metalhead, what a revelation! I've had this album for 3 years, I've probably listened to it 1000 times and I never noticed the ghost track before sideway spiral... what a fool I am. Good job moustache for reviewing it.

To create a Dada poem: take a newspaper. Take some scissors. Choose from the newspaper an article that has the length you intend to give to your poem. Cut out the article. Carefully cut out each of the words that form this article and put them in a bag. Shake gently. Then take out each cut-out, one by one, arranging them in the order in which they left the bag. Copy conscientiously. The poem will resemble you. And here you have "an infinitely original writer with a fascinating sensitivity, though misunderstood by the man in the street." (T. Tzara)

Puglia, you’re right, we’re too much like twin figures of speech.

Preterition: (from the Latin praeterire, "to pass by") a rhetorical figure that consists of pretending to silence what is actually being said. For example: "I won't mention the warmth, the affection, the kindness with which we were welcomed." Barbie, how much do you know??

I'm aware of that editorial... I read it and I agree with it. I would also like to read the reply you sent to the editors. The point for me is this: if you’re reviewing, for example, Grand Funk Railroad, then – I agree with you – you need to make a review that is primarily descriptive, because it’s a band that few people know, with a story that deserves to be told, etc. Everyone knows The Cure. I don't need someone to tell me that The Cure doesn't make grindcore, thank you very much, I already know what music they play. So, since I'm already familiar with the album – as are 90% of the Debaser community – I like to read about what M describes when he listens to it. There’s a 10% who won’t understand a thing, but maybe they could be intrigued by a review like that. Regarding the criticisms on "poetic" reviews... this will be the fourth or fifth review in a month where I see in the comments "no, too poetic, not good, I give it a 3," without even getting into the content of what’s written. Tell me if this isn't a trend. You see, it’s not the criticism itself; it seems hasty to dismiss a review – which may have questionable content but is certainly well-written in form – with a generic comment that's used by everyone. Then, you say that there’s a good number of people who see it that way: well of course, let me say, otherwise what kind of trend would it be? Well, I’ll close this monologue here because A) I don’t want to come off as the staunch defender of the elegiac couplet, the beauty of deB is precisely that anyone can write the review and comments they like, of course B) I wouldn’t want it to seem like I’m targeting Mike... sorry if I used your comment as a pretext for discussion, I’ve wanted to bring up this topic for a while.

the best "debut" review I've read recently. Well done, man, really well done. And this new trend of criticizing reviews by saying "they're too poetic" has, in my opinion, gotten a bit annoying (sorry, Mike, nothing personal)... every review requires its own language, and an album by The Cure should be described like this... of course, if you use this style to review Robbie Williams, then you just look like an idiot... but for The Cure, it’s just fine, well done. To those who say you're wrong, reply that poetry is the art of reproducing reality: some things that nature can't do, art can do, while others it imitates. Nature doesn’t know how to play "Friday I'm in Love." Ask a tree to play it for you and see what it says... what did it respond? A whole lot of nothing? So, is it more foolish to create a poetic review or to talk to trees like a moron?

I'm not saying he's incompetent, I just don't share his vision of rock, and as a result, when I happen to agree with him on something, it frustrates me. That said, I have nothing against him; may he live another hundred years indulged by lovely eighteen-year-old Thai girls... what do I care.

Thank you, kappa, I'm pleased to collect favors from the Swiss press ;-). The last album they made is from 2001, but it's a disappointment. MBS, I didn't know there was an anti-scaruffi campaign going on, but personally, I have some doubts about someone who considers Type O Negative better than Tool and compares The Beatles to Britney Spears... but is it that you defend him because he praises both My Bloody Valentine and The Dream Syndicate? :-)
