I hope you find something among these albums I've mentioned that you like. As for Limp Bizkit, I think they are definitely not useless; they inspired a ton of bands in the rap-metal scene. I'm sorry you don't like Mudvayne; to me, they are among the best. Stone Sour aren’t even nu-metal to me, and I think POD suck—I would have never mentioned them ;)

Thank you very much! As a reward, can I have a free gastrointestinal check-up?

Around The Fur and White Pony by Deftones, Get Some by Snot, the first two albums by Mudvayne, the first by Slipknot, the first two by Limp Bizkit, Science by Incubus (it’s not nu but it contributed), Chamber Music by Coal Chamber, Wisconsin Death Trip by Static-X, the first by Ill Nino. These are obviously according to my personal judgment, not trying to be pretentious at all. Oh, feel free to address me informally.

But come on, go ahead and delight me with your scroll, I’m really curious, you know. Well, regarding the advice, I’m not sure how much it might interest you since you don’t like the genre and elevate Drowning Pool among the decent bands, and on top of that you claim that Korn aren’t a historical band. As they say: pearls before swine.

I don’t see much difference between the two sentences, and I don’t think you do either, but it’s better to claim that it’s me who doesn’t understand. Well, what can I say to you, this 'endless discussion' as you call it, is continuing not only because of me, since you initially started from personal tastes and subjectivity and then moved on to 'different sentences.' But it doesn’t matter, let’s just drop it.

Come on, Carlè, don’t take it so hard, it seems like you’ve never had a music discussion in your life. I’ll try to make the point clearer for you, since you still haven’t understood: I don’t care at all if you drag through "my favorite genre," as you say, especially because (as you say) everyone has their own tastes, and that’s just fine. The point is different; you said that apart from those 6 bands you mentioned (RATM alternative metal? Well, let’s not even go there), everything else in the genre is crap, shit, and nonsense. I could accept this if you had a good understanding of the genre, because, like it or not, you would have listened to many bands, and if you only liked those 6, there would be nothing wrong with that (this brings us back to the tastes discussion). But the fact is you know very little about this genre (as you admitted), and therefore you can’t make such sweeping judgments because YOU don’t know what you’re talking about. Let me give you an example so you’ll definitely (?) understand better: if you tell me, for instance, "these 6 bands are decent for me, Korn and Limp Bizkit suck," that’s fine, rather than saying "apart from these 6 bands, everything else is shit," where you also don’t know "everything else." It’s fair to express opinions, but if someone expresses them without knowing the topic, then they shouldn’t get upset if someone points it out. Clear?

<<For the rest, I agree with you that Nu-Metal has produced tons of crap.>> But please, Carletto, don’t hide behind personal tastes. You said that apart from those 4 bands (and by the way, RATM has little to do with nu metal as it’s understood now, if we want to be precise), everything else in the genre is crap, as if you want to suggest that you know the genre so well that you can say that apart from those 3-4 bands, all the others are shit. But if you now admit that you don’t know the genre that well, how can you claim that apart from those 3-4 bands it has only produced crap when you don't even know many of the bands belonging to this current? I mean, if your judgment criterion says that Drowning Pool is a good band, then I start to doubt that you've really listened to much of this genre (and you admitted it yourself), so your statement seems out of place. To summarize and take your example again, if someone likes Tokio Hotel, that’s not a problem. The problem is if they start throwing crap on bands or genres they don’t even know. Then again, if you’re fine with just saying ‘well, they’re tastes,’ there’s really no reason to argue.

Damn CarlMarx, you really know your nu metal to say which bands are 'good' and which are not. Damn, if you think Drowning Pool is a good band within nu metal, it means you haven’t listened to much at all, so just avoid making such statements.
