Trooper on Linkin Park, I agree, for me they are dull Pop. As for Incubus, well, those from SCIENCE can be considered Nu Metal, eh, but the ones after that are definitely not, more Pop-Rock than anything else. Besides the fact that they are all kind of useless arguments, I agree with you. Ignorance knows no bounds, and many people don’t really know what nu metal is or what it isn’t, and on top of that, they have the audacity to criticize and talk trash about things they don’t even understand. All I’m saying is that nu metal encompasses many bands and has an extraordinary variety (it’s a fact, given the multiple influences this genre has had), but we can’t label anything that came out between 1998 and 2003 as ‘nu metal.’ But we can’t ‘generalize’ like you did either. And once and for all: Nu Metal is not synonymous with Rap Metal.
