Very well-written review, congratulations. However, I give the album a solid 5; it deserves it. Personally, I believe Playing the Angel is superior to Ultra (thanks for the thought, uoppocop) and a clear cut like Exciter which I detest. My ranking: 1 Black Celebration - 2 Violator - 3 Playing the Angel. Ciauuu

When I didn't understand a damn thing about music, I couldn't stand metal, especially growled singing... now after the change, I say this album deserves a 5; it's definitely innovative for its time, and I believe it influenced a band to come, namely the System of a Down of Toxicity.
