Luis Bunuel L'angelo sterminatore

masterpiece of Bunuel's Mexican period; a brilliant anti-bourgeois satire, one of my favorites.

I like Independent a lot, even if it’s not on the level of the first four, which are truly another story; in fact, it’s very different from their old stuff, it's less acid and much more hard rock (and I wouldn't expect anything less, the producer is John Paul Jones!), but it's still a great album. "Who was in my room last night" was also one of their (rare) radio hits (the other is "Pepper" from Electriclarryland).

I didn't know about the movie on Cthulhu at all, thanks for the heads up, it's already downloading... and congratulations to Utopia from me too!

We are on Independent Worm Saloon, the last great album they made (along with the subsequent Electriclarryland).

What do you say, Poletti? Do you want to put the "neo-neorealistic" masterpiece Mery per sempre alongside this boring pseudo-deep film? There's simply no comparison...

absolute masterpiece from one of the most important bands of the last 15 years. For me, their best.

I've never been convinced; in my opinion, the environmental and social degradation of the south is much better portrayed in the films by Risi, Mery Per Sempre and Ragazzi Fuori. And I just can't stand Lo Verso; he can only portray two types of roles with his face, the delinquent or the police officer.

The last great album by the Surfers before their major label transition, I have it on vinyl (I love that cover); "Jimi" is the total masterpiece, the rest is not bad, but nothing compares to those 12 minutes of lysergic bacchanal. They are the most psychotic and depraved branch of the great Texas psychedelic tradition of 13th Floor Elevators and Red Crayola.
