What a pity this group is: do they really think they are the only ones who know Nirvana? But are there really people who listen to them? It seems impossible...

Well, of course the Ramones are the "originals," but not everything they wrote is noteworthy (from "Pleasant Dreams" onwards, they've declined a bit). I repeat: the Hansons use a formula invented by the Ramones, but they do it with such skill that they turn out to be extremely enjoyable (and often even superior). I believe that all the Ramones fans who have worn out their records from listening will definitely find these Hanson Bros interesting.

At this address, there’s a nice photo of the group in all its glory (I love the Jason-style hockey masks from Friday the 13th): MM Magazine : les actus

@Sfascia Carrozze: I agree that NoMeansNo is obviously a whole different animal, they have another depth; but just knowing that the same minds are behind these two (seemingly distant) groups is a (strong) reason for my interest. I would say that, of their albums, this is the best one, a real delight. The subsequent ones are decent, but nothing compared to this.

@Nano_Bagonghi: you have a really nice nickname! Anyway, I knew the story of the movie, but I've never had the chance to see it. They say it's very funny (even for non-hockey players).

@Jim Morrison: I can only tell you that if you like the Ramones and similar stuff, giving it a listen is highly recommended (they really know how to do that genre); otherwise, you can live well without it… bye.

I Run DMC were the best, forget about Sugar Hill Gang or Grandmaster Flash. Their first three albums are better than the last. I’ve never listened to Tupac...

If you tell me they look like they just came out of Texas in the late '60s after taking a trip on the Mekong, I can only give you a 5 and get the record (even though for the trip on the Mekong, I would have preferred Marlon Brando/Kurtz).

In my opinion, starting from '89/'90 marks the golden age for rap: NWA, Eazy-E, De La Soul, Geto Boys are all greats, completely different from the shit we have today.

I had only listened to it in the live version, played more slowly, and it always reminded me of a Green Day song. In fact, the album version (I just got it now) is quite a bit faster. I also know very little about Green Day, just a few songs, but I think they must have given Stiff a listen...

I completely agree, including the negative opinion on "Just Lust": one of their worst. Fun fact: there's also a song by Stiff Little Fingers ("Alternative Ulster") that sounds just like "When I Come Around." Great review, I wish I had written it.

Hey pretazzo, you who know your stuff, why didn't you mention the legendary MDC (founders of RRadical)? They burst onto the scene in 1981 and when it comes to violence, power, hysteria (and, I would add, political commitment) they have nothing to envy from the DRI (if anything, it's the opposite). Saying they left a void behind them is a bit of an exaggeration, isn't it? Anyway, the MDC were well-known in Italy: in 1984 they did several concerts (two at Virus in Milan) with other Italian bands.
