Alex Infascelli H2Odio

I believe that Infascelli should find a real job and stop pretending to be a director.
Alfred Hitchcock La donna che visse due volte (1958)

I agree with the reviewer: the most beautiful, I could never get tired of seeing it.
Eli Roth Hostel

terrible: the violent scenes make the chickens laugh, the plot is nonsense, and the direction is completely anonymous. The protagonists are unbearable: the first part, in the style of a sexy teen comedy, is supposed to make us attach to the characters and find them likable, but it has the diametrically opposite effect (those idiots deserve much greater torture and suffering). A classic example of a scam film.

Reading the review: one must admit that it's beautifully passionate, from a true fan!

Polletti wants a reason? Here it is: I've never been able to stand Callaghan; I know he's a pillar of the detective genre, but I still find him detestable (just like Charles Bronson). It might be due to the forced viewings of these films that my brother (his great admirer) insisted on when I was still young, or maybe it's because I'm allergic to fascist cops... who knows. Anyway, I've seen all of Callaghan's films, and perhaps the "least bad" is "Una 44 Magnum x l'ispettore Callaghan." As far as Clint is concerned, I only appreciate his westerns; I could gladly do without the rest.

Hey, I'm not arguing... let's say it was a "heated exchange of opinions"! Anyway, for me, the best is Tromeo & Juliet, even better than this one. And if you want to see a truly awful movie, I recommend the silly "Frostbiter - Wrath Of The Wendigo," one of the worst from Troma, so terrible it's actually good. In comparison, Toxic Avenger looks like a Kubrick film!

If I say that Troma makes independent, anti-Hollywood, anti-American, and provocative cinema, do you think I'm talking nonsense? It doesn't take a genius to understand that Troma's style is the antithesis of Hollywood; Wikipedia's confirmation is hardly needed. <<Independent, yes, but in its own way, in reality it's now just another little Hollywood that makes its films with its actors and tries to squeeze as much money as possible from people>>. Did you think they made films for charity? "Independent" doesn't mean "unconcerned with profits." And the action figures/posters/various nonsense from The Toxic Avenger only appeared after the film gained a certain underground fame and became a true cult classic, that is, years after its release.

The point is, as you have already been pointed out, that it makes no sense to review such films using the criteria used to judge normal movies: it's obvious that the cinematography is poor and the actors terrible; their qualities are different. Those who watch these films aren’t looking for auteur or serious cinema. Toxic Avenger is a milestone in the genre, hugely famous and appreciated by all genre lovers; if this seems like crap to you, what would you think of stuff like "Frostbiter," "Nazi Surfers Must Die," or "Terror Firmer"? And then explain to me what "cinema alternativo a hollywood (wikipedia)" means and what the speculations of Troma are.
