Poletti, what I wanted to say is that you can't expect everyone to share your ideas about cinema. Appreciating horror films or comedies with Bombolo and Cannavale doesn't automatically imply a disdain for masters like Bergman, Fellini, or Vigo. These are works that need to be viewed with different eyes... I assure you that I've seen the majority of the films on your list; they are immortal masterpieces, okay, but if I had limited myself to the classics, I would have deprived myself of so many beautiful films that I never imagined I could enjoy; it would be like praising Latin literature and dismissing everything written after Tacitus as a pale imitation of ancient writers and therefore useless. It makes no sense. Then there are personal tastes, that's true: it's more than legitimate that you might hate (for example) Carpenter's films or those featuring Jerry Calà, but you can't get angry if someone (or many) likes them.

You're right, given the name, they must have had a certain inclination for Indian culture! It's a real shame they've ended, especially since I've only been following them for a short time and they were getting me really hooked... I don't know these U.S.S.A. instead, how are they? Do they have anything to do with the Butthole Surfers?

Poletti, listen to me, you're making a fool of yourself.

It cracks me up to hear Howard the Duck being compared to 2001: A Space Odyssey, Hitchcock, or Orson Welles... to attack this kind of film in light of improbable comparisons with the works of the Great Masters of Cinema is truly ridiculous, let alone Howard the Duck! I don’t need any Poletti to come and give me a lesson, because I assess films according to my own personal standards of enjoyment, without the need to necessarily compare them with Fritz Lang or Chaplin (or Mereghetti); then it’s obvious that I like Howard the Duck in a different way than I might like, say, Barry Lyndon. And anyway, Hetzer, Howard is a duck, not a chicken.

Ok, ok then I correct myself. I wonder why DUANE DENISON didn't set up a specific side project dedicated to Indian music, instead of releasing Anonymous with Tomahawk.

@eletto: so I understood, I also saw it recently (it seems to be by Jacopetti, but it's by another director). @mike76: sooner or later I would like to review Porno Holocaust...

I wonder why Patton didn't create a dedicated side project for Indian music instead of releasing Anonymous with Tomahawk. I gave it a quick listen and they don't even sound like themselves! There are just 2 or 3 "more normal" songs and the rest... meh!

@eletto: "Nude and Savage" is an '85 film that's a bit splatter and a bit sexy comedy (!), the one you mentioned I don't know. @mick7 Zombie Holocaust, apart from a few notable scenes, is forgettable, but at least you have to see Ultimo Mondo Cannibale, in my opinion it's the best after Holocaust and Ferox; Apocalypse Domani (also known as Cannibal Apocalypse) is an original variant: it talks about Vietnam veterans infected by a virus that turns them into zombie cannibals. "Antropophagus," on the other hand, is great precisely because it's unintentionally trash!

If you haven't seen it, I also recommend "Ultimo Mondo Cannibale," also by Deodato (but earlier than "Cannibal Holocaust"). Then there are "La Montagna Del Dio Cannibale" and "Nudo e Selvaggio," both decent cannibal movies. Other iconic titles include the legendary "Antropophagus" by Joe D'Amato, "Apocalypse Domani," and "Zombie Holocaust," which every genre enthusiast should know :)
