I only have Pigs Of The Roman Empire (beautiful), where he teams up with the Melvins. What would you recommend from his other works?

I wanted to say, "the scenes of the landing really made me feel unwell."
Steven Spielberg Salvate il soldato Ryan

When I went to see it in the cinema, I was drunk and high-spirited, and I must say that (even though I'm not an easily impressed kind of guy) it really made me feel unwell. Then the movie went on, the buzz wore off, and I didn't fall asleep only because I was too entertained by Tom Hanks' silly expressions.

a group that hasn't received the recognition it deserved. This is beautiful, but the masterpieces are the triad Cunning Stunts-SexyPeeStory-Orphan's Tragedy.
Reverend Horton Heat Smoke 'em If You Got 'em
Voto:
a great band, the Reverend is a true beast, they are much more than the usual rockabilly revival. However, I prefer Liquor In The Front, which is also produced by Jourgensen from Ministry (Rockabilly-Industrial!).
Steven Spielberg Schindler's list
Voto:
Overrated film: verbose, rhetorical, and predictable even if stylistically impeccable (typical of Spielberg); its purpose is not to tell the story (for example, the psychological depth of important characters like Schindler is zero) but rather to move the viewer by any means necessary. On the same subject, I find that The Pianist by Polanski is much (much) better.
Marc Forster Vero Come La Finzione
Voto:
To me, it seemed fundamentally like a trivialization of Adaptation; that is a film with a great screenplay, full of meta-cinematic implications that make the story truly intriguing (after all, the Jonze/Kaufman duo is a guarantee)... here there is just a good initial idea that the script fails to develop adequately.
Ken Russell I Diavoli

I have the Italian version on VHS (it doesn't exist on DVD). For me, it's also a masterpiece, perhaps even more extreme and disturbing than The Devils, due to its less visionary and "psychedelic" style compared to Russell's film.

Until a few years ago, the Italian DVD version didn't exist at all; I don't know if it has been released now. In English, however, there is a nice uncut edition no title Fidia, have you seen Baby Of Macon by Greenaway? Although it is completely different as a film, I think it has a lot in common with this...

Ken Russell is an absolutely subversive and talented director. This immense film is his visionary masterpiece: provocative and disturbing (but also courageous, let’s not forget it’s from 1972!), the film triggers an absurd spiral of mystical-sexual delirium that gives us one of the most depraved and morbid portrayals of the church, unafraid to show the blood, decay, and immorality that have always been an endemic part of its history.
