undeniable Pasolinian masterpiece

Well, I see Psycho as a pointless exercise in style: every scene, every dialogue, and shot is an EXACT copy of the original, frame by frame, with the only difference being the color. The operation (presented as a tribute to Hitchcock) may seem interesting (in fact, I went to see it in the theater), but in the end, you realize that it is fundamentally pointless.

In my opinion, Van Sant is a brilliant director, but very inconsistent; among all his films, there are a few he could have really skipped: "Da Morire" (bad), the remake of "Psycho" (pointless), and "Last Days" (very bad and very pointless). "Drugstore Cowboys" is simply one of the best films about drug addiction ever made.
Joe Strummer The Future Is Unwritten

There's a movie with Joe Strummer that I really like, "Straight To Hell," a kind of surreal spaghetti western, totally crazy (it also features Shane MacGowan, the Circle Jerks, Courtney Love, Elvis Costello, and Jim Jarmusch as actors). If you get the chance, watch it because it’s a lot of fun.

A great film, many have dismissed it for its supposed slowness and its uncritical way of recounting events. But in reality, the director has deliberately chosen to avoid any easy moral judgment, observing the story “from the outside,” without interpreting or judging it. A disconcerting picture emerges, a chilling reflection on alienation and the lack of any morals/values, especially since the events did not occur in a degraded school in the ghetto, full of drugs and arms, but in a kind of model school immersed in greenery, where kids attend photography and art classes in an almost idyllic setting. The point is not “how did they manage to get the weapons and bring them to school?” but “what were they thinking?” And it is also a masterclass in directing.

I found myself there a couple of years ago, and I have to say it’s quite a nice fiesta, very alcoholic... I’ve obviously never heard of these, but the review makes me want to try them.

Saint Ange is horrible, something you'd find on a prime-time slot on Rai2, it can't even be remotely compared to this great masterpiece. The review is sufficient, although fundamentally useless since there was already one (excellent).
