Ghemison, also listen to "Poet's Life" by Tim Armstrong which is worth it: nothing to do with Rancid's punk, it's a really well-made roots reggae album.

Nice little disc, but this year Tim Armstrong's solo album (recorded right with the Aggrolites) came out, and it's even better.

Well, rock is definitely there; you can't dismiss the Pixies of Doolittle by labeling them simply as pop. Sure, pop is a fundamental component, perhaps even predominant (at least since Doolittle, which remains their catchiest album), but it's not the only one: there's definitely punk, hardcore, surf... Plus, talking about "decline" seems excessive to me, considering that Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde, although inferior to their early works, are still excellent albums, evidently a result of a quest for new sounds (the surf in Bossanova and a "quasi-hardrock" in Trompe Le Monde).

The phrases "pisa merda" have become a classic by now (obviously, you'll find plenty of them in Livorno as well), it seems that the people of Livorno think of nothing else but writing "pisa merda"... Imagine, I have personally seen the phrase "pisa merda" in Paris, in a social center in Berlin, in London, and even in Poland, in the Wieliczka salt mine, about 200 meters deep, carved into a wooden beam. It sounds unbelievable, but it's true! However, next year there might not be a derby, since Pisa currently seems to be on a fast track to Serie A (while Livorno is struggling).

SO YOU DESERVE 1!!! Just kidding, no problem for me, but there are people who take this rivalry too seriously. Until a few years ago, it was tradition for groups of Pisani and Livornesi to clash at the beach every Ferragosto, it was a matter of "ethnic cleansing" (not to mention when they played Pisa - Livorno at the stadium, it was a real mess, I still remember the news reports on tg1). Anyway, some of my Neapolitan friends told me they prefer Livorno because it reminds them a lot of Naples (you’re from Naples, right?)

I am from Pisa and i nomeansno are supposed to play on 29/11 at Rebeldia, a kind of (fucking) social center where for concerts you don't spend more than 5 or 10 euros...

back to nomeansno: this autumn they're coming back to Italy, I don’t know all the dates but I only know that on November 29th they will play in my city (yay, I get to see them for the second time in a year!)

I completely agree with you, it's just that reading the review it seems like the writer thinks "prog sucks, the merdallari are idiots, and electronic music is for snobs. The only good music is what I listen to!". Anyway, now I understand that you were being sincere (unfortunately there are many people who think this way), so it's better this way.
