Saw it last night, and I must say it's a good adaptation (with a slightly different, somewhat more "positive" ending). Of course, to give it a decent length (about 100 minutes), the screenwriters added many scenes that are not present in the short story, but the result is satisfying. Well done Cusack and well done to the director, a nice film that perhaps resembles more a psychological thriller than a horror.
Brad Anderson The Machinist (L'Uomo Senza Sonno)

that's exactly the point: if films like The Tenant, Repulsion, Psycho, Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive, Spider, Memento, Abre los ojos, Fight Club, etc. (the list goes on) didn’t exist, then it would be an incredibly original masterpiece, and not just a respectable genre film as it actually is.

modest, but nothing particularly striking. After the beautiful "Session 9" (now that is truly a remarkable film), I was expecting something more... instead, it all feels familiar, including the ending (Fincher) and the usual "tributes" to Polanski and Lynch.

I really liked it, especially because they offer a personal reinterpretation of somewhat "stagnant" genres like postcore and sludge, also adding good doses of stoner, psychedelia, and hard rock. A 4 is more than deserved.

well, "clones" might be excessive, I exaggerated, but I feel there's something more than just a simple resemblance. Anyway, it's better to refer to Pavement than to the Strokes!

I like the review, but they don’t. I mean, they’re nice guys, to be fair, and what they do, they do reasonably well... but why should I listen to Pavement clones (10 years late) when I can hear the originals?
Adrian Lyne Allucinazione Perversa (Jacob's Ladder)

very beautiful; the hospital scene is something astonishing, it’s worth watching the film for that alone. The review was already there (and it even started with the passage from Genesis).
The Electric Flag The Trip (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

A curiosity about the movie: Roger Corman, who had never tried LSD, decided to take a nice trip before starting shooting, just to really understand what it was about; but even Peter Fonda, Nicholson, and Hopper went on a "group trip" to get in tune with the subject. Talk about the spirit of self-sacrifice!

Great movie by the genius Corman, this is true vintage psychedelia!
John Carpenter La Cosa

The episode by Coscarelli is based on a story by Lansdale (for which he had already adapted Bubba Ho-Tep), nice but doesn't convey the same essence as the book. Good news about the box sets, it seemed unbelievable to me that they weren't being distributed in Italy as well... too bad about the cost, I saw that the price of the two box sets is around 70 euros each!
