Nice film, but it’s important to remember that just a few years earlier the exact same subject (namely, the relationship between writer-literary work-characters) had already been tackled, with decidedly better results, by Spike Jonze in his "Adaptation." The film is enjoyable (especially the initial part, with the animations following the protagonist), but the screenplay is predictable and everything is handled in too schematic a manner.

@Bubi: I gave a quick listen to Little Feat (the album Dixie Chicken) and I liked them, but it seems to me that the rhythm section itself doesn't have anything particularly special (we were talking about this, right?). However, I promise to explore them more thoroughly in the future.

@azzo: you’re right, when talking about the debts to reggae/dub, the influence these genres have had is undeniable, for example, on the bass lines of songs like Waiting Room and Bad Mouth. I’m not familiar with Little Feat, but I doubt they could surpass Primus in power/technique/inventiveness...
