M. Night Shyamalan The Village
Voto:
I saw it at the cinema and I still regret the money spent on the ticket. The plot could have been interesting, if only it had been supported by a decent screenplay, while the usual plot twists (on which Shyamalan built his career) now feel stale (see the predictably cheesy ending).

it is impossible to positively reassess this stuff: it was crap and it remains crap

Since we’re talking about Lega Nord, I’d like to chime in just to recommend, to anyone who might be interested, the documentary by Claudio Lazzaro "CAMICIE VERDI - BRUCIARE IL TRICOLORE," an unsettling report on the xenophobic-nazi-like delusions of the Lega supporters. It’s worth watching even just to enjoy the scene of that human scum Borghezio in a hospital bed, covered in bruises and with a broken nasal septum (the result of a heated exchange of views with some critics).
Korn Life is Peachy
Voto:
For me, Korn and Life Is Peachy are a solid 5, Follow The Leader a bit less so, but it’s still a great album. However, they haven’t been able to reach those levels again since.

I had the videocassette of the concert, who knows what happened to it now...
Tim Burton Sleepy Hollow
Voto:
Even "Corpse Bride," perhaps the best of his recent films, is not entirely his own doing: in fact, it has shamelessly borrowed its idea from "Hasta Los Huesos," a claymation short by a Mexican director (one René Castillo), which has been copied to the point of plagiarism.
Tim Burton Sleepy Hollow

Well, I really don't care about the whole "commercial or not" debate: for me, objectively, Beetlejuice, the first Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, and Mars Attacks are all masterpieces that skillfully blend originality and intertextuality, comedy and grotesque in a unique way; then, simply, he began to repeat himself, to indulge in his (auto)citations: and now, after the syrupy gloss of Big Fish, the trans Johnny Depp from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and the songs of Sweeney Todd, it seems to me that very little of Burton's genius has survived.
Angelo Badalamenti Twin Peaks

great soundtrack, the main theme has now entered the collective imagination...
Bob Marley Survival

muitocoso, in part you are right, but you are talking about Raggaeton (originating from Panama and Puerto Rico), which is a whole different thing; of course, today in Jamaica almost no one plays or listens to roots (which would be the "classic" reggae of Marley, Peter Tosh or Lee Perry), while Ragga and Dancehall by people like Sizzla and Capleton are wildly popular, charlatans who sing violently homophobic and racist lyrics over recorded beats... if only they would say "me gusta la coca, me gusta la fica."

I’ll share my thoughts: I find that Burton was an extraordinary director until '96 (for me, Mars Attacks is his last true masterpiece); then he started to lose his touch (see the mediocre remakes Planet of the Apes and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which are truly unnecessary, as well as Sweeney Todd and Big Fish, which feel lacking, especially when compared to his earlier works). This Sleepy Hollow is objectively a beautiful film; the direction, cinematography, and effects are excellent, but it lacks the genius and originality of Burton's authentic masterpieces.
