NO GLOBAL? The no-global crowd listens to Fabri Fibra... what a discovery!... Of course... truly unsuspected, these no-global people...

Maybe you wanted to know what we think about this media hype invented by the Guns' press office?... I just think that a new Guns 'n Roses album wouldn’t really benefit the rock scene, it wouldn't bring any novelty, no innovation, nothing positive... perhaps a bunch of clichéd little songs from a group of now forty-somethings still playing at being rockstar wannabes... for heaven's sake, we all owe something to the Guns... they’ve made historic songs, but honestly, setting aside personal memories, this is... frankly, I don’t feel the need for it...

But no... it's not that I'm condemning the technique... the discussion is about Dream Theater, and it's their style that I'm criticizing... anyway, I wrote that I 'played' in a punk band that fortunately broke up... you know, differences in the overall conception of music... I hate singers who want to show off their vocal skills in a punk band... those who idolize Dolores O'Riordan or Alanis Morissette... what a nuisance!

Marco, you tell me that a well-played solo can help you overlook the ugliness of a song... I don’t agree, even though, undoubtedly, technical skill is always to be appreciated. But it’s not enough to make you love a song, an album, or anything else... there always has to be something more beyond technique, and that something more, in my opinion, is fundamentally tied to emotion... and a damn bending or tapping, personally, doesn’t touch my sensitivity or my intelligence... peace, Marco...

From easy's post, I understood that bending, tapping, and all those technical gimmicks shouldn't necessarily be regarded as infallible proof of musical knowledge and skill… and especially of 'quality'. On the contrary, they can be interpreted as a sign of rigidity and schematism in one’s personal view of rock music... a view that is essentially stereotypical, where a musician is considered good only if they are packed with technique and doctrine... but originality, flair, and style are what's needed…! At least that's what I understood; then in the end, you find that neither of us really got it..! easy enlighten us..!

Yeah, I mean those canvas ones that make it more "alternative," more "punk"... in short, these gadgets for small quarters.
