Hey guys, are you still here??... Anyway, as a longtime Nirvana fan, I can only tell you that grunge is a term invented by the press. Nirvana basically played punk rock, even though their music reflects various influences, which is why it's so unique... you have to remember that Nirvana's music is rock from the '90s, and therefore it's already backed by forty years of rock history... it encompasses Led Zeppelin, Sex Pistols, Ramones, Beatles, but also R.E.M.... and grunge is the synthesis of all these different rock styles... only in this sense can we talk about grunge...
