Christopher Nolan Memento

I don't think the editing is brilliant, as it's simply a technical device meant to make the film more interesting or "experimental." The brilliance of this film lies in the underlying idea, in the protagonist's illness, and in the fact that everyone tries to take advantage of it. The editing is just editing, period. The chronological version isn't any less interesting but is less surprising because it lacks that device that makes you say, "Ah, that's how it is!" I already knew the review wasn't going to be great; I’m not interested in writing good reviews but in introducing things that I enjoyed.

there's the official version with the black and white story that goes forward and the color story that goes backward and then they meet, and then there’s the version in “almost” normal order, but don’t worry because you’ll be confused anyway
Peter Weir Picnic A Hanging Rock

oh, what the heck? Did you all see it?? What movie is this? I've never heard of it, sorry, but down in the deep south, we only get telenorba.
Alejandro Jodorowsky El Topo

The sacred mountain is and will always be one of the best films of all time, even though this one is no less. You come from the shit... Jodorowsky is always a five, but you don't vote for things like that.
Pier Paolo Pasolini Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma
Voto:
no no no, Pasolini must be read, the films are too "look how ahead I am, all genius and recklessness"... personal opinion naturlicht
Stanley Kubrick Full Metal Jacket

When it comes to films about Vietnam, titles like Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket, Platoon, The Deer Hunter, Good Morning Vietnam come to mind. When talking about today’s wars, the only film that comes to my mind is La tigre e la neve... humanity regressing.
Martin Scorsese Taxi Driver
Voto:
Hey, what a drag!!! Now everyone starts doing movie reviews, after I did one on Dancer in the Dark ages ago and nobody paid any attention to me, this isn’t fair. No, anyway, do reviews on films, you can’t live on music alone... and Taxi Driver isn't Scorsese's masterpiece, come on, what about Raging Bull!?!?
Alice In Chains Unplugged (DVD)
Voto:
the best unplugged of all time... no doubt about it, one of the most beautiful concerts of the 90s
