Yes John, I agree their music is beautiful like that, simple and unpretentious. But believe me, you don’t need to be an expert to understand that perhaps only Lennon and George (with help from others) out of the four would have been at the level to compete with people like King Crimson, Van der Graaf Generator, etc. Even if they had been at that level, many fans would have abandoned them. Definitely.
