"Final observation of the fundamental importance of values within society": here, by values, I mean friendship and the sense of family that somehow "blooms" between the two young people while, due to her father's restrictions, their relationship seemed already marked. Moreover, even marriage in the town appeared strained, due to what I interpret as a decline in values that then "reconciles" with reality in the final sequence.
