p.s. I think that Steve Vai is one of those who's just showing off because it's known that he's a monster at playing the guitar, and in the G3 that I have, there was no need to start playing with 3 guitars; after all, you only need one, the 6-string, and the other two are just for effects.

While I think Slash is really a show-off... the three guitarists from Iron Maiden are hard to evaluate because their solos are those seen live, but it's logical that they're not at their best since they're not soloists... then Steve Harris forbids them from playing solo parts, which makes it impossible to judge them as you can with Vai and co... because they perform most of their guitar work as soloists... regarding Malmsteen, I believe he is one of the best guitarists in the world, not just because he's fast (in fact, Herman does it at double speed), in the G3 of 2003 with Satriani and Vai (where Malmsteen was also present), he delivers a piece on an acoustic guitar that is not only fast and showy but also capable of evoking emotion... it's pointless to say one is stronger or weaker; comparisons can't be made because there's always someone (maybe unknown) who plays better... regards.
