"Endless Dream" doesn't excite me very much... I'm not saying that Rabin isn't a great guitarist! On the contrary, he is very skilled, but as you said, they are two totally different styles, and I definitely prefer Howe between the two. The "dare la paga" was referring to this, not to the skill itself.

I personally find "Magnification" very interesting: the orchestra (never too intrusive) excellently replaces Wakeman. Moreover, almost all the songs are of excellent quality. Surely the best album since 1983! - Additionally, from the "Magnification" tour comes the beautiful DVD "Symphonic Live," featuring standout performances of "The Gates Of Delirium" and a version of "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" where Howe really outshines Rabin.

Excellent review that perfectly frames this wonderful album. It's a shame that YES did not follow up with the next (and rather indecent) "Tormato." They will fully redeem themselves, even without Anderson and Wakeman, with "Drama."
