In the live arena, I think no one can match Queen. Technically, Queen weren’t the best, but they had an energy, a creativity, a vocal, musical, and theatrical power that no one then and no one now has ever come close to! They could take an average little song and turn it into a masterpiece! Better live than in the studio. And then they had Freddie!

I didn't say that those who have a beautiful voice have created more masterpieces than Battisti. Anyway, Rino Gaetano has made many more masterpieces. And anyway, Rino was a true artist as he wrote the music and lyrics of his own songs. Rino's songs have greater depth compared to Battisti's.

Come on... the Queen of the '70s were, in my opinion, an unreachable band! They wrote songs with melodies and lyrics that I haven't heard again since. Then from the '80s onward, they completely changed (deliberately) their style, writing some crazy stuff but also great songs, remaining a fantastic band. How can you overlook songs like: b.rapshody - somebody to love - the march of black queen - nevermore - white queen - killer queen - The Fairy Feller's Master-stroke - father to son - innuendo - hammer to fall and many others?

a beautiful voice was that of Rino Gaetano, Freddie Mercury, Pino Daniele, Celentano, Buckley, Page, Robert Plant etc. Battisti certainly didn't have a beautiful voice and couldn't sing much live, but I still appreciate Lucio's voice a lot because I like his vocal timbre (but that doesn't mean it's a beautiful voice). Battisti sang many legendary songs, but a bit like the Beatles, never a masterpiece. Moreover, he really sang many absolutely banal and unbearable songs! For heaven's sake, he remains a great artist but overrated.

Rino Gaetano was not the greatest Italian singer-songwriter and lyricist, but he was the most brilliant of all. And anyway, if we really have to identify someone overrated, no one surpasses Battisti! Battisti didn't write either the music or the lyrics for his songs, and on top of that, he didn't even have a great voice. That was the difference between Battisti and Rino Gaetano.
