Mogwai Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait

@KingOfASd: Humanly (and it doesn't take much) and physically maybe yes, technically it remains to be seen: always keep in mind that zig-zagging between the slender defenders of the Brazilian leagues and scoring 1000 goals is still not the same as playing at the highest levels in the Spanish and Italian leagues. Diego's Napoli was an amazing team, but Juve, Milan, and Inter were always intimidating. And then, Diego scored in every possible way: from the hand to the run from midfield, from a 50-meter goal to a header 10 cm from the grass... Pelé remains among the 3 greatest of all time, but surely not in 1st place, no matter what the Brazilians say, in constant competition with the Argentinians.

I finally managed to see the movie. Beautiful. You were right, in the end figuring out who the killer is takes a back seat. Cynical and sad, just the way I like it. 5 confirmed. 4.5 for the film.

3.5 for the movie. I haven't read the other comments, and I stopped at the second chapter, so I don't know if it has already been explained: regarding the fact that the two victims didn't notice that the "corpse" was breathing, I read that it was due to drugs that slowed the heartbeat and breathing, and it seems that this is explained in Chapter III. At this point, I'm curious to see how it will end. As for the actors: using two big names, or at least two rather famous actors, chained to the toilet for the entire duration of the film seemed like a waste; the production must have done some calculations. For where it wanted to go, the story didn't need big stars; in fact, it could have been a showcase for two lesser-known actors like the two victims, or for Tobin Bell himself (personally seen in the past only in Malice) or for small old glories like Danny Glover.

But I think it was the fifteen-year-old who was high on alcohol and coke; besides having a stomach made of steel capable of handling chili at 2 AM, you really have to be out of your mind to go with a loser like Lemmy. I haven’t had much luck expressing my thoughts on Motörhead in the past either, and I find some of my viewpoints confirmed in your review. One more reason to give you a 5.

Gene Wilder's face in the final scene is worth the entire film :)

Priest, I also share your last comment, but the pleasant feeling (at least for me) that comes from listening to an engaging melody should not be underestimated, even if it’s within a song that adds nothing to the history of music. I recognize the historical value of certain bands that do not make melody their strong suit (from what you say, this might also be the case with Stick Men), but perhaps I’ll be superficial, I don’t know how long I could endure a type of music that doesn’t convey emotions to me or suggest moods. I can appreciate certain stylistic innovations I’ve never heard before, but in the end, I think it would remain something self-contained. Your approach is that of a true connoisseur, while mine might be that of a simple music enthusiast :)

And to think I was worried about butchering the "docta ignorantia" of Socrates to justify my vile musical ignorance. Pretazzo rulez! Those obsessed with musical omniscience will end up going mad. Come on, let’s stop worrying about who invented what and why; let’s all listen to music serenely. Ah, Peace & Love! Almost forgot...

Editors An End Has A Start

Damn it, let's forget about Joy Division; I don't want to be repetitive. It's perfectly fine for a band in 2007 to draw inspiration from another one from the past; I'm not one of those who fights for originality. The fact is that the Editors, while hitting good melodies and making catchy songs (as I believe I mentioned in the review, I don't think I said they're a shit band; I "slammed" the album, not the band), risk becoming self-plagiarists.
Jonathan Demme Il Silenzio Degli Innocenti

Yes, the literal translation would be "The Silence of the Lambs" referring to an anecdote that Clarice tells Hannibal (metaphorically the innocents). Forgive the extreme brevity, I was just passing through and I'm sleepy :D
