Well Omeganex9999, if a better opportunity came along, I wouldn’t mind seeing The Darkness and Metallica. But I think I would wait for some Italian dates... Going to these festivals is just throwing money away, you get stressed, and on top of that, you stand for 45 hours in 164° degrees in the shade. It's not for me :-)

I don’t understand those who give 1 star to the album and, unconditionally, 1 star to the review as well, just because they don’t like the artist. I’m not a fan of Tiziano Ferro either, and I probably won’t listen to the album, but giving 1 star to a review that isn’t bad, at all, is just foolish.

"Leaving at dawn, spending 5 hours on a train, entering the racetrack at 10:30 and coming out 15 hours later, standing the whole time under a sun that melts stones, water running low, beer costing 6 euros a glass (what assholes…) and a popsicle at 2.50, then leaving and waiting 8 hours lying next to platform 1 of Imola station for a train to take you back home," frankly, isn't the wisest thing to do. And yet, hundreds of thousands keep falling for it...

Ah, I almost forgot: regarding the alleged activities of Tad Doyle, it's a detail that is practically irrelevant, which I included to help sketch a brief portrait of the character. It's something I've read; I wouldn't have had the audacity to write it on my own initiative :-) (after all, I haven't had the honor of asking Mr. Doyle in person). As for him being a lumberjack, I'm ready to acknowledge that, but I'm not sure how useful it may be to the cause :-)

For therealramona: as I mentioned, Grunge is a "genre" too vast to be limited to just Nirvana and similar bands. In the end, no one can provide an unequivocal definition. Let’s say that, from the modesty of my knowledge, I consider the Meat Puppets as unintentional forerunners of the genre, and I also dare to include, among the myriad of bands, the Afghan Whigs, who, compared to the "traditional stereotype," displayed different influences. In my opinion, recording for Sub Pop held significant weight; an illustrious exception is Pearl Jam, who, not by chance, I consider the least grunge band of Grunge. Sub Pop was not merely producing generic "rock" bands. They were looking for someone who had that special something in their sound that... [...] which is why, even if to a minimal extent, I tend to include all the bands that left a mark with the aforementioned label in the indefinable genre.
