Nino D'Angelo Il Ragù con la Guerra

I would be lying if I claimed to be a deep connoisseur of post-neomelodic D'Angelo. But I must say that since the late '90s, he has "evolved" in a definitely dignified way. An evolution that a D'Alessio wouldn’t even see with binoculars for a whole series of reasons. Whether you like it or not is a different matter. The various songs I’ve had the chance to listen to (including those from Sanremo) haven’t disappointed me at all and certainly show courage in leaving behind a genre like neomelodic, which is almost elevated to an art form by those firmly rooted in the Neapolitan subculture. The fundamental difference between Nino and Gigi, aside from the latter's performing skills, lies in the directions they have taken over the years. They both share the same background, but while the former felt the artistic need to "change," the latter has merely brushed up on Italian grammar to export the usual, self-same laments beyond the borders of Forcella.

@Reverse: Indeed, it is a beautiful painting, personally even more valid than "Dead Horse" from a technical standpoint. After all, dear sfascia has elegantly raised the perfectly legitimate question of "de gustibus"; it is the emotional component, however, that determines my special preference for Fattori's painting, in which any technical skill mostly serves a complementary function. To simplify, it is the classic painting that moved me for what it represents, rather than how it is represented. Unlike, for example, Raphael's School of Athens: exceptional execution, but a subject that speaks to me little or not at all. @Sfascia: you are justified only because the reduced dimensions do not do it justice. The canvas is longer, maybe it has a different effect on you (but please don't take any malice in that :D). If you really don't like it, then so be it. I don't expect anyone to say it's the most beautiful painting ever created :)

Thank goodness they never did a cover of "The Locomotion." I can only imagine the hilarious "choreography"...

Well, in the end, I listened to it and it didn't seem all that bad to me. Maybe it was because I started with low expectations, but I would say it's a more than decent listen for this season which, as we know, is musically marked by the most ephemeral transience.

Blackmail me? You forget a step. If what remains of my memory does not deceive me, verba volant in de-ciàt, so I would say my identity is safe. At most, we could reach a compromise. Now we are like Bruce Wayne and Alfred: my secret (that the Intelligence would take years to decode) in exchange for a fixed position as a butler at my 8-story residence. Domestic duties include emptying my great-grandmother's catheter every 12 minutes. There's no need to remind you that in case of refusal, I will have to safeguard myself by depriving you of all your communication sources, namely your tongue and your fingers! :) While you consider the offer, I’m off to organize the coup in Botswana...

@Iside: I didn’t remember telling you the terrible secret related to my nickname (which is not at all a suggestion to settle a debt, as one might think). The story of the shaman from a tribe in Botswana was too far-fetched, right? Anyway, the fact that you remember it so clearly flattered and unsettled me at the same time :)

Concise and effective. Perfect. Video and song are not up for discussion.

Uhm, I could agree regarding this particular album, given the lack of promotional hype and the choice not to release any singles. In fact (probably to avoid speculating beyond the "necessary" on Richey's lyrics), the band decided to rely exclusively on live promotion, playing the entire album, something they had never done throughout their career. Here we have an album conceived mainly for the hardcore fans. With "Send Away The Tigers", on the other hand, I believe the Manics aimed for proselytism towards those who had missed them in the '90s. And indeed, it is their most commercial album since This Is My Truth...

Thank you all for the comments. @iside: that "sane of mind" is one of my usual excuses that I can't help but include in a review. In this case, it complements the picture of the grossly "psychological" references found at certain points in the text, and at the same time, it reflects the condition that the player hopes for themselves by the end of the game, given that it’s quite convoluted. The entire final sentence, on the other hand, refers to the fact that there is indeed a possibility, among the solutions, that everything resolves for the best for all characters, "bad" ones included. Don't make me reveal more :) @UhuhPanicoUhuh: I've never had the chance to play The Sims, being without a Playstation or whatever console is compatible, but as far as I know, I don't believe they have much in common, at least regarding the story.
